Sam Fender

So his London show last night was 1hr40: Sam Fender Concert Setlist at London Stadium, London on June 6, 2025 | setlist.fm

Feels like this falls below expectations of some in this thread who were hyping up a 2hr show. Similar to how I felt when I saw Arctic Monkeys at Finsbury Park in 2014 thinking they might be ambitious in length only for it to be the usual 90 minute 21 song affair.

Saw the show last night (my eighth time of watching him) and I was blown away by how brilliant the gig was. I wasn't sure how much 'effort' would go behind the show and whether it would be same as the December gig...just in a stadium. "Crumbling Empire" and "Arm's Length" all landed well with the crowd as did "Tyrants". However, the highlight was "Remember My Name" and I don't think there was a dry eye in the pit at that, followed up beautifully by "The Dying Light". That's aside from all the fantastic hits.

It's a shame he's not headlining El Pointo this summer, but having seen how far he's come as a live performer over the last seven years, I reckon in three years he will be confident and wonderful at the top of the Glastonbury bill (I can't see him playing in 2027 as I reckon he will tour this album into next summer, have 2027 off and come back with new material in 2028).

Anybody there on Friday night know how the front pit worked? Was it sold in advance or first come first served. Trying to plan what time I need to be at SJP and I don't remember there being a front pit option when buying tickets (there wasn't in 2023 either) .

My mate went with his daughter and wasn't even intending to be front pit.

Sent me a picture after he'd just got a wristband at 19.10 and said it wasn't close to full.

Probably because CMAT isn't a huge draw as support.

Yeah, I was there in front pit. We got there at 6 for CMAT (who was amazing), just had usual standing tickets but they had additional blue wristbands which you got given when you entered the front pit. They had ran out by the end of Olivia Dean’s set (she was also great), I imagine they’d go sooner at SJP so my advice would be get there early and see the great support acts. Enjoy the show!

Something I've noticed over the years is that people don't know it's possible, they just assume they were expensive tickets. Always worth checking!

Do yourself a favour and recognise that music and culture and Glastonbury move on.

I'm also an Old Fart but usually try to not sound like one with every waking key board stroke

Sam Fender ain’t moving on. There’s been “Sam Fenders” at Glastonbury since the beginning. Charli, Dua Lipa, Doechii this is moving on.

Would you have a day off from snarkily judging others because their music tastes don’t correspond to yours please? It’s quite unnecessary.

At least he’s nearly made it to the magical 20 song set list

Boring old fart.

Just like me.  But can see that evolution is the key to the festival.  Oh, sorry, working class white guy with a guitar?  Your f**ked if you think that is going anywhere

Perfect! Thank you. Think you're right they'll go quicker at SJP so will shoot for before the first support then.

Is anyone going to SJP on Thursday?

Going to Saturday and will be arriving in time for CMAT, so hoping can get into the pit.

This is my plan too for Saturday. Now just need to decide which toon top I'm wearing. Tempted by this year's kit, but don't fancy it getting covered in beer on its first outing if we end up next to pint throwers (the very worst people you meet at gigs).

Although it's slightly further away if one's counting an instrumental intro done by the rest of the band.

I'm aware that song is a bona fide moshpit starter for his upcoming gigs at St James' Park tbf.
