Seems the CFC fans already planning for Conte's exit and have their eye on this man. Bigs up Jardim massively and many will argue that some good league finishes in France and Portugal don't make you one of the best managers in the world but when you read what he's done with the youth and transfers etc at Monaco it really is fascinating. If Conte is to leave, I certainly wouldn't mind us taking a chance. It would be between Jardim and Allegri for me. Two very different directions though. edit. just read that Tuchel will be the new PSG coach which is fine by me as I didn't fancy him at all. Genuine question, how many players have been brought through the youth system into the first team in the Abramovic era? Plenty of youth seems to be bought and loaned out until they're sold but Chelsea always seems like a club that wants instant success over a building up a team over several years. The people who pelted the bus with stuff are idiots, plain and simple, the same as the West Ham fans who caused all the trouble a few weeks back. Every fan base has them - there were a couple of incidents with City fans throwing coins in recent years (one cutting Ferdinand IIRC and one hitting a supporter in the eye) which led to a prison sentence. Played with your lad Alexander Arnold (on the opposite flank) last year in the England U19 side. Obviously Trent is getting game time and developing this season. Our player is on loan at Charlton in League One. It is what it is... I suppose there are so many factors to consider but in short, no. I don't see anyone coming in, facing the pressure of immediate success and risking their job by focusing their attention on integrating the youth and building from the ground up. It's a nice idea and yeah, it would be great to see a youngster force his way into the team. For instance, I'm excited by Loftus Cheek but I don't hold much hope of it happening at CFC because I've seen so many prospects fall by the wayside. That’s why there were thousands of supporters at the junction of Barking Road and Green St hours before the game, taking photos in front of the Champions statue, drinking at and outside the Boleyn (pub). They were not there in an organised pre planned ‘welcome’ of the opposition supporters coach like last night was. When the Man Utd coach couldn’t get through very easily - due to the large number of supporters lining the road (no barriers or escorts like there was in liverpool - weren’t pre planned you see...) - a few numbskulls threw some tinnies at the windows. Liverpool supporters in pre planned ‘welcome’ committee = unruly lovable scallies worthy only of small print inside paper.
