Yeah. I mean technically any electronic equipment is a potential threat, but you aren't gonna be banning torches and that are you. Confiscating portable speakers is going over and above the level of security you have to suffer when flying into America. Madness.

It's frustrating because I've taken it for the last 3 years and it's been awesome for around camp... but just not worth the risk of having it taken off me. If it was a cheap one I'd be fine with taking the risk.

aye I mean you'd be a brave man taking anything of significant value on a camping holiday with 200,000 people anyway, let's not forget that.

I think "personal sound systems" have always been on the banned list but interpreting that as a Bluetooth speaker seems harsh.

No. Only in the holding q.

Security still saying 8 for gate open but they do every year. It was 8 mins past 7 o clock last year.

They do keep saying that those in the holding q who have had a thorough bag search will not be searched again at gate. Just wristband and in

I did go all the way up to the gate yesterday afternoon and saw no technology

Maybe the best bet is to make sure we all have screen grabs of the banned items list on our phones - that way if anyone attempts to confiscate anything that's not on the list we have something to back up our claim.

Mrs had more of a  search but moment they found the different skittle vodka flavours they were fascinated. Very friendly bunch.

if they remove your aerosols but then they can be bought onsite then this is ridiculous... an updated banned list should have been produced earlier ... other items being confiscated that aren't on the banned list should be returned to the car without having to go through a queue or kept and labelled until returning home or it's just plain stealing IMO .. ON FB lots of aerosols being removed and a few portable gas canisters as well... madness ...should be all or nothing not selective

All sounds a bit hit and miss. Some walking in, minimal search, others having pain medicine taken off them. 

Hopefully it'll calm down as things go on.

Why do you need all this stuff, it's a music festival,the music is supplied,you don't need to bring your own speakers. Just need your tent,sleeping bag, change of clothes,torch,simple toiletries oh and few bin bags. Life is so complicated these days.

if you're arriving on coach you can't take things back to the car, you will lose them plain and simple.  could end up costing a lot of money... .I am hoping that it calms down/some more info is provided.

I've seen reports on twitter about camping gas canisters being confiscated at gate A  can anyone confirm if that's the case? I've got a stove and gas with me.. also are security even opening up sleeping bags/chairs etc or does it tend to be just a search of the main bag?
