I'm in my 30's and would happily see Madge, she's one of the biggest and most influential acts on the planet, why wouldn't you?

I'm sure there'll be a bunch of lads with guitars playing proper music on another stage for you to enjoy.

Isn't she supposed to be horrendous live though and even sometimes mimes? I might be thinking of someone else but I thought even her fans got frustrated with her.

I've only ever seen Madonna live on dvd as £200 a ticket is way too much for me, but they're brilliant shows. The songs you're less likely to know have better staging. There's one where she kills a prowler who has broken in to her home. (although maybe she was the prowler now I think about it). Decades of experience of engaging performances. She'd be incredible.

In a world where The Rolling Stones agreed to headline I don’t think we can discount (m)any acts due to them supposedly costing too much.

I mean, I’m not expecting her to be the final headliner, but the Eavi have worked miracles before, and lord knows this years top tier needs spicing up some.

Plus Emily liked her on Instagram, so based on that it’s definitely happening.

Though if she is doing a couple of one-off shows with no new product to flog then we might wind up on the good foot.

Kinda why I was hoping she was lined up for the 50th. No corners cut on the setlist.

I'd love to see Madge there but she may have priced herself out. Would assume she would do a hits based set rather than her usual new stuff she has been doing recently.

The problem with an artist like her is they often just play their touring set as it's such a big production they can't just suddenly choreograph, rehearse and learn a bunch of hits. Maybe the odd one but otherwise you can expect the same setlist that she would be touring at the time. Judging by her last tour your looking at a load of w*nk. Add loads of new (shit?) songs from her album about to come out later this year and you've got a massive but slightly disappointed crowd.

Sky bet have also stopped taking bets all together again! Probs nothing but can speculate like everyone else!

Posted this other day, yes betting is no definitive to go on and yes she’s like 8/1 now, but wondering if has any substance?

( don’t shoot me down, only guessing like everyone) I’m just an excited glasto debuter this year! ?

I think the bookies just move the odds to encourage betting. I would guess the markets are so small that even a few quid could cause the odds to fall rapidly.

Usually just if someone chucks a tenner on it, they know nowt usually

there's currently a lot of rumours about a new album.

There is, and it's presumably forthcoming at some point.  Question would be whether this (supposed) Wembley date is part of a more protracted album campaign or is tee'd up as a bit of fun in advance of a more specific tour.

Depends on the lead times.  I guess an album release in the spring / tour kicking off in the summer isn't completely impossible at this stage.

I used to set odds for a bookmaker and all odds changes on markets like this are down to people placing money on them and nothing else. In cases like this one a couple of bets at £10 a pop would be enough to bring it down.

Madonna’s odds coming down will be because a few people have placed a bet based on us talking about it on here.

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
