Considering how nailed on we thought Macca was. I wonder how nailed on The Cure is anymore?

If you look up “nailed on” in the dictionary, there’s a picture of Paul McCartney walking away from a herd of cows.

There was always much more scepticism about McCartney playing. I don’t think it was ever ‘nailed on’, just the best guess at the time based on the info.

Yep I guessed her a couple of weeks back after Macca vegas date and seeing her booked to headline Essence in the States the following weekend.

Great booking, would assume she would headline Glastonbury too, but surely not up against Janelle on the Sunday

Could she headline? Does anyone care about Janet Jackson anymore?

Really don't think she could.

To be honest I think even the people saying sub are a bit optimistic - if she's playing Sunday then my best guess would be 3rd from top immediately after Kylie. Even then I think Kylie would slightly overshadow her.

Aye Janet ain’t headlining. She’s big in name but I don’t think she’s ever really been THAT much of a big deal over here musically, or at least not for a while. I’d go for her going post-Kylie, similar to Katy Perry, Shakira etc from previous years.

Kylie > Janet > Vampire Weekend > The Cure

Gimme gimme gimme.

Dunno. Definitely for a stretch she was operating in the same league as the likes of Prince or Madonna. A proto-Beyonce.

Though obviously since then she's gone into this weird sort of semi-retirement.

She’s had as many number one singles and albums in the UK as The Strokes. Put it that way.
