You saw Blink-182? Why?

I hadn't really watched anything with my mates that year so I wanted to stick with them for the last act of the weekend. Didn't think they'd be quite as bad as they were.

The even more tragic thing is that I saw Macklemore with them before that as well ffs.

not less than £5m was what I heard - and while I can't guarantee its true, its supposedly come from the mouth of someone who knows her price.

Jeeez, that is mental. Had to double take when I read that

I think if anyone wants that money they shouldn't book them on principal. Glasto is probably the best music festival arround, Should be happy their being asked to play.

Fam she's Madonna. That's like saying Lionel Messi shouldn't ask for a high wage, he should be happy that Barca want him to play for them.

Pretty sure that’s roughly the same price Beyonce charged Coachella, albeit for two iconic performances, so I guess we can kiss goodbye to the possibility of the Queen ever returning. Pity.

Chances of a Queen return ended in 1991 mate. What is touring now isn't Queen.

not necessarily. Some acts are happy to do Glastonbury at a cheaper price, and some aren't.

I mean its not the same but I see the comparison. Messi is a lynch pin at Barca at the moment if he isnt scoring he assits or pretty much starts the build up. Madonna isn't that for Glasto, they could book another headliner just fine and be done with it, she has a networth of 590m can you imagine the greed, she hasn't played Glastonbury before youd think shed want too?

Yeah I realised it was a naff comparison as Barca need Messi and Glasto don't need Madonna. But still I don't think there's anything wrong with her not dropping her demands to play. For some people it isn't the be all and end all.

*It’s like saying Lionel Messi shouldn’t ask for five times as much as Cristiano Ronaldo, when even if you did pay what he wants he’d insist on spending 90% of the time refusing to do anything interesting.

True, and I guess the prices for the joint shows with Jay Z she did over here were fairly reasonable.

I opted for The Chems over The Who and don’t regret it, what storming set that was. Then again, I suppose The Chemical Brothers are legends in their own right.

Not as much a legend but still a pretty big deal, I also swerved Adele for New Order. Again, absolutely loved their set.

That was the right decision. New Order will probably never play Glastonbury again where as you will hear Adele in every shopping centre lift you step foot in.

    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
    • A couple of OR's crew and band have posted Barcelona pics.   HYYPPPEEEEE
