Will the 2018 break impact your 2017?

No, it won't really change anything for me. I've been through it twice before in 2006 & 2012. In a way I enjoy the year off as it gives me a chance to experience something new. 2006 we went to Reading Festival, it was ok and I am glad we went but I haven't felt the urge to return. 2012 I can't recall atm but we would have done another festival. If there is no 'alternative' Glastonbury next year I would like to do Boomtown as I have had that on my 'to do' list for a while.

I also think that a break after doing 5 on the trot is needed to become enthused again. A year of arena type festivals and it makes you realize how good Glastonbury is so that you're like a rabid dog when it comes back around.

Last year I actually didn't see a lot of bands. It's quite shameful really, but the lineup wasn't my favourite, so I spent a lot of the festival exploring the site, checking out the craft fields and the different bars. During Adele, I was up at the Crows Nest looking over the site and it was magic.

However I did feel a fair bit of guilt over missing so many acts, so this year I'm hoping there will be a few more things on the lineup to excite me. Even if there isn't, I'm planning to spend more time by the stages for sure.

I don't think it's gonna be any different from other years to be honest. Last year was a bit shite and alot of things went wrong. Really over did it on Saturday night and ended up in a bad way which effected my enjoyment of the Sunday massively. Sunday is usually my favourite day. But anyway, I think it'll be more of the same this year. Getting hammered, watching a bunch of great bands and hanging around the theatre & circus. 

Really excited for it as usual, but as others have said, a year off actually makes you appreciate just how good it is.

I always try to do something different each year anyway to make each year a new experience. This year I might pull an all-nighter at the Glade to watch The Orb, and I also need to get inside the NYC Downlow.

All things will be possible this year due to the beautiful, sunny but not too hot weather we're going to have

triennial visits have so far served me well. so this will be my last until 2020, which i hope will be at worthy. usually part of a small-ish group that insists on sticking together like a pack. can get a little frustrating and needlessly stressful trying to keep everyone together & content. G17 will be my first just as a couple. it's my girlfriend's first glastonbury and first festival to boot, our tastes, pace & stamina are broadly aligned so i'm looking forward to playing guide, no hassle, paced and pleasant drinking, glorious sunsets and just having a generally more chilled week.

This will be the last glastonbury my group go to before going off to do very different things with out lives. We will probably do glasto 2019 etc, but we will be different people by then, and I have a feeling the festival will be very different also.

So for myself at least, I'm gonna make this glasto the most glasto glastonbury I can, really throw myself into the spirit of things. Less observation and more participation in the festival and with strangers.

Happy first Glasto as a couple. Your girlfriend is going to have an amazing time. It's great going with a Glastonbury virgin. Also there are advantages of being in a couple as opposed to a group.

It'll be just like normal Glastonbury, but with lots of standing around waiting outside the longdrops / shepees.

I started going in 2008 so have only experienced one fallow year in that time. I remember finding it very hard back then but things have changed quite a bit for me since then. Very few of my old group will be there in 2017 and I missed it in 2016 so it feels less like a break in the cycle than it did then. I enjoyed doing Blue Dot instead last year and it'll be nice to do something else next year. That said I can't wait to be back and sure it'll feel quite poignant on the Sunday. I'll be going as a couple too, which was basically what we did in 2015, and I really liked it. That was his first. Every year I come away wishing I'd done or seen more so no doubt that will happen again. I'd like to see less bands and do more other stuff. Never happens!
