isn't this being done by the guy behind the Spice Girls (Simon Fuller) who also hopes to 'tour' the Spice Girls the same way - those that want to tour augmented by holograms of those who don't - not sure it'll be that big a money spinner

I'm a first generation Abba fan.  Started buying their albums when I was 7.  I can't see this happening - and I very much hope it won't happen.  In fact I think they are to be applauded for not reuniting.

I recall Björn saying in an interview that they want to be remembered as they were.  This virtual thing would fit into that.  I imagine it a bit as those football computer games.

They have gotten back together on occasion and even sang together once or twice, but these have been small affairs, honouring someone they had worked with etc.

So how would that work with Abba. Three live people in their 70's and a hologram of a fourth in their 20's?

As much as Fuller is a pro in what he does, a digital hologram of Abba or even worse the Spice Girls is going to go be very cringey. For what its worth, we just wanna see them sing live and play live! Too much to ask maybe,

yet another lot I just dont get the hype for.....they were a pop group who had a couple of cheesy songs that get annoying after youve heard them at literally every school disco, wedding reception, local radio station time and time again....why are they considered legends? I feel like im on a totally different planet when I see threads like this ....I mean like the guy above talking about legacy...what legacy? I know them as the group who originally wrote that annoying song steps covered...thats about it...hardly the bloody beatles were they?

Yeah they are good to dance to when your pissed and forget all concepts of taste but fuck me....live? take a chance on that? no! itd be a tragedy!

same brand of shite just forced into a different form.......I mean honestly who thought the bee gees were good! he sounds like a sodding hamster with its nuts in a vice!

Tsk, you've never seen Travolta before he had a face made of plastic with dracula's hair, when he could carry a can of paint with panache.

I can't believe a few people are saying they hope they don't do a tour.

I don;t think they will tour or play Glasto, but the legends slot would be lifted to a new level. Yes they could headline, but I think the afternoon slot would be so much better for people and families to watch

BTW Is there a new sport this week - think of someone who has zero chance of playing and start a new thread about it, or does this happen after general sales every year?

Pretty much. It's that or virtual tumbleweed blowing around.
