Haven't been keeping up but where has the RTJ elsewhere info come from? (Not that I ever thought they'd be back on WH anyway).

A geezer on another (closed) forum I occasionally frequent. I've no idea if he's telling the truth but he claims to have seen the WH lineup, and says RTJ (and Chic) aren't on it. Justice headlining Sun. Sat lineup as per the lineup/rumours page.

In that case, where would RTJ be? Sorry if I've missed something! Maybe if they're subbing somewhere it's possible to catch them and then Radiohead!!

I think they're gonna be mid Other but could also easily end up headlining John Peel (although hopefully not that because clashes).

But aye Bonobo surely (and hopefully not them pulling something out of the bag like ATCQ which clashing with Radiohead would fucking suck so much).

I reckon that Hacienda Classical as well for Friday night that people seem to think it quite a big deal and Bonobo as a sub on that stage if Park is out and that's the only day he can do.

I don't care but I'd rather it not be ATCQ for your sake of at least stick them 5th below the possible Stormzy playing 4th.

@Brave Sir Robin said Chic and RTJ aren't on WH when giving the Justice on Sunday info. Was dreading RTJ being the Friday WH headliner and adding to the clusterfuck Radiohead/Lips clash that I've resigned myself to happening.

RTJ were very going to be WH headliners, they aren't bigger enough.

They were 3rd down a couple of years ago, and have had another very well received album since then. And on the poster they're the most likely WH Friday headliner if you discount the acts confirmed for Saturday and Sunday. Granted there could be and likely will be another name to come later, but them headlining WH isn't an unreasonable proposition. They wouldn't necessarily be the biggest act to do it, but it's certainly plausible. They're headlining Field Day above FlyLo who headlined WH when RTJ played 3rd down, so clearly they're bug enough.

That FlyLo was just because it suited them etc, it was too big a slot really. RTJ  haven't quite reached that next level yet and this year is the one to attempt.

Also - bass issues aside - that FlyLo set was dead on.

I'm sad about the bass. I tried standing in two different places, with ear plugs, and it was just terrible. I left. I'd like to see him again as he is up there in my favourites.

It settled down - or I got used to it, I'm not sure - and I enjoyed the second half a lot more. And good-o, for George and Thundercat. Hoping that at Field Day the levels will be good from the outset. (Well, and no Slowdive clash...)

Yeh kind of wish I'd stuck it out. Ah well. There was a positive in that I managed to find my girlfriend in The Who crowd without any communication whatsoever.

I was also at manchester soulwax, great night. Shame it was on a sunday as that set definitely works better in a club environment but it was still an epic set.

Hopefully we get the boys down the farm but wouldn't be a disaster if not. They are announced for Blue Dot 2 weeks after which is not sold out so they may be politely insisting that they don't get revealed for the G until later on.

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
