Lucky my arse we try bloody hard for tickets and pay a lot for the privilege. I respect the eavis's as much as any but no need to be that sychohantic. Criticism will be given when it's deserved....and in this case it's deserved as it's a very bland obviously just catering for TV viewers trio of headliners. I'm not an idiot I'm not going to threaten to burn my ticket or not go or any such rubbish as I know there's a lot away from the pyramid to do and see. But please don't tell me I shoudlnt be allowed to be critical like these people are some kind of almigty gods or something.

We are lucky to be going as many people on here tried as hard as us and didn't score a ticket. Just because you don't like this trio it doesn't mean they are no good or unsuitable to headline, moaning is fine but to single out the lovely Emily is pretty grim, why not organise your own festival if you think can do better, I suspect that you couldn't.

Foo Fighters, Kanye West and Prince - Original 2015 plan from the sounds of it or

Muse, Adele, Coldplay - 2016 confirmed.

I must admit the original 2015 excited me more, one was never confirmed, one broke his leg and the other was appauling so a damn shame it never happened.

we go to a party willingly on their farm , we dont have to , nor do we have to go to one of the many stages that are put on for our entertainment , they choose the many different types of music , they also have battled the likes of the local council many times to make this happen for us , so I for one am not going to complain about one tiny percentage of my time at the festival (where I could be elsewhere ) is ruined because its not to my taste . If I attend a party im genuinely appreciative to the host ..

OK pal I'm sorry I 'dared' criticise her ;p PS I was criticising the headliner choice not her overall job in organising the festival. So wind your neck in and read before posting in future please. The overall festival is brilliant and the eavis's do a good job....does that mean I have no right to express my opinion on there choice of headliners? No it doesn't...free speech pal. This isn't north Korea the 'dear leaders' are not beyond critic.

Be a bit more Glastonbury.

maybe they're catering for the tens of thousands of people who will turn out in the Pyramid field to watch her?

you know the irritating thing, I wasnt even that harsh, I wasnt claiming to be setting up a silly petition, or insulting emily personally or being abusive, I merely said its a poor choice of headliners by her this year.....in my opinion....as im perfectly entitled to! So no you all go on there making up hilarious posts about `metal fests` (because thats obviously where I belong yeah? us metal fans shouldnt be allowed at glasto should we?) how open minded of you! and for the donut telling me to `be more glastonbury` earlier? speak for yourself pal.....freedom of speech and expression is a cornerstone of this festival. and yes that includes the freedom to criticize.......you know what Emily would agree as well? shes a smart woman she knows shes not going to please everybody and that people will express negative opinions if they dont like something, you dont need to defend her as if I insulted her mother just because I happen to not like her choice of glasto headliner...what im saying is...cut the sycophantic bollocks and appreciate that not everyone is going to like everything....glastonbury or not and we are perfectly entitled to express that opinion.

had the same crap last year funnily enough.....now is this a discussion forum or a fucking cult? because the way some of you speak to anyone who expresses any negative opinion about anything to do with glasto or the eavis`s it seems to be verging on the latter.

You know the ironic thing......odds are ive seen most posting here criticizing or moaning about one of the headliners already, be it muse, coldplay or adele before she was announced..... hows that for hypocrisy?

I challenge you to find one of my posts being critical of the headliners ... off you go perhaps you can keep looking whilst the festival is on too

@thatcrazypenguin Do you actually engage with people in the real world? I mean seriously, do you talk to them like that? I actually thought you had chilled out this year and was giving you the benefit of doubt but off you go again.

Not sure you've noticed but Charm is a lady not a fucking donut pal! And when i say lady I don't mean just her gender.

if the host makes a hell of a lot of money and influence out of you going to that party and gets there name put up in lights worldwide once a year because you and everybody else decide to go to that particular party are you still as ass kissy? of course the eavis`s do a great job but please dont make out this is all put on for us simply out of the goodness of their hearts. Eavis is a businessman like any other, like it or not. and hed be the first to admit that esp when it comes to his farm no matter if its glasto season or if hes making decisions about the future of his milking herd. this is exactly the kind of crap I mean when I said above stop the sychophantic bollocks.

hes also a genuinely nice buisness man , which I found out when I had the pleasure of spending an evening chatting to him ... have you spoken to Emily or Michael ever ?

if people get sarcastic with me I tend to answer back yes.......who doesnt? do you think you get free reign aiming a post at me on a forum as charm did? honestly! all this because I posted one message criticizing the headliners this year, forget chill out, some people need to grow the hell up! Forget I said anything cannot be arsed to get in another flame war with touchy little children who cant take the fact that not everyone has the exact same opinion they do.

There are plenty of differences of opinion. How they are expressed though is a different matter.

the only touchy little child here seems to be you.

maybe if your posts weren't regularly so moronic, less people would "flame" you.

    • Policing is very relaxed, provided you stay within your lines I'd say. I don't think we're supposed to have an event shelter as well as a tent next to our van, but we've done it without issue for years. It's a happy vibe up there.
    • Do feel a lot more cynical about the Mercury now. Given the awards show is now an arena event, there's clearly a pressure on them to nominate mainstream acts in order to sell tickets for it. And not saying that Jade and Knats don't deserve to be nominated (haven't listened to either), but the fact the event is in Newcastle can't have nothing to do with that... (not to mention Fender winning last year, which frankly was a joke)    Hard not to agree with this: https://www.clashmusic.com/features/this-years-mercury-prize-is-a-pivot-towards-the-mainstream/
