I saw the forecast as well, and that's putting a a bit negative spin on it.  The storms hitting us is clearly not impossible,  but it's  a worst case scenario, not a fifty - fifty possibility.

True, but there are still bands of showery rain for us to get through.

At this point last year we were celebrating exactly the same kind of forecasts and then the low chance showery rain turned into Friday's dumping - if we get that this year on top of what's already happened then we're fucked.

I'm being half empty but point is - hard weather system to forecast, lots of uncertainty about rain, humid air coming up from south = don't crack out the cigars yet.

I have the BBC weather app (and I do hope it's right cos they've been the kindest through this) but is there another free app that might reliably tell me if/when a cloudburst is imminently due?  I don't even know if I'd use it, given a look at the sky is normally all you need, but it might be handy.

(I leave in a couple of hours.  I am not packed.  Me being here is the equivalent of tidying up my study notes.)

Most of the forecasts have showers on most of the days and this has been the case for a good while now. Terrible weather or heatwaves crop up occasionally, but are outliers. The exception is yr.no that has no rain after gates open.

My biggest concern is the ground. There's really no period of solid sunshine to dry it up and so I reckon it will be a bit heavy underfoot with occasional light showers. On the plus side, there's not going to be enough rain to make it much worse, so we'll really know by tomorrow evening when everyone's tramped in.

yr.no has updated.

Showers possible today and if they don't come it will be a test of their forecast.

3 to 5 am tomorrow is the worst of anything, after that.... well have a look. Personally I just bit their hand off.

Glorious weather for the festival itself. Unfortunately they seem to predicting much better conditions than everyone else :P

If this comes off, I might become Norwegian
