Its as if they deliberately overload the Friday. It cant be a coincidence. Every year theres trauma in some way.

Ive come to the decision that if this superclash does occur, im driving down to bristol to see Sigur Ros on the thursday...

Don't think so. There were 'advance' tickets when I looked the other day, but Ticketmaster was undergoing work so I was never sure if they were actually available to buy.

Going to monitor the situation, as the Saturday looks pretty good. George Clinton into LCD plus others. Torn between that and waiting to see if they tour the new album later in the year.

LCD vs Sigur Rós is going to be a fucking joke. And that's without considering Muse who were my favourite band for most of my life and will still be bangers.

As I've seen Sigur Rós and seen Muse 10 times after next week it'll be LCD I think, but I was listening to Sigur Rós all day yesterday and missing that will be a right pisser. 

Do the right thing, Glastonbury, and put Sigur Rós on the Saturday at WH.

Then do the great thing and put LCD Sunday Other above BMTH.

Then do the unbelievable thing and put Disclosure Friday Other and Radiohead below Adele.

Yeah, I was careful to say that it was purely a measure of number of people you can safely fit into the field, nothing else. The difference is that near enough everyone at the JazzWorld will have a clear view of the stage all the way to the back, and the sound only starts to drift off a bit on the other side of the path. Whereas at The Park the terrain means that the sightlines can be poor and there's holes in the sound further back - even around the Sound Desk it can be patchy. So it feels  much smaller because you're never going to watch a band from the back.

But from a H&S perspective, if that came into play, The Park would be considered bigger and much easier to isolate.

There's clearly no set type of act that headlines the John Peel stage. They fit none of the criteria for a West Holts act whereas the only criteria for John Peel stage seems to be 'big enough and unsuitable for another stage'.

The act 'to gawp at' wasn't even specifically a headliner either - just one act over the weekend with something of a visual show.

I really don't like John Peel, especially for a band like Sigur Ros. If you're reasonably far back you can barely see the stage, though this might be rectified in the new location.

Either way I wouldn't really complain as such if they did end up on West Holts and I could see them because it's a good place but they would stick out like a sore thumb. The John Peel stage with all its lack of identity is the actual 'third stage' that people want West Holts to be and, as long as they'd be too big for Park (I dunno if they would be depending on who they're against) then that makes the most sense to me.

I don't wanna believe they're gonna throw them on Friday up against LCD. Muse/LCD/Sigur Ros/Underworld would be a strange way to cut the crowds and I think plenty would be torn (not over Muse) and plenty more would be kicking about with nowt to do. Seeing as though the other three are destined to headline a stage on the Friday then I do hope that plays into Sigur Ros either subbing Other or doing Saturday.

The Thursday night trip to Bristol for only less than £30 tickets is tempting if we do find ourselves in clash hell, despite how very sober and un-Glastonbury it would be.

I always found it was worse in John Peel. Partly because crowd is packed together like sardines all the way to the back for a popular act, and once you're outside the tent you can't see anything at all. Whereas with the outdoor stages you can usually stand a fair way back and get a better overall view of the stage. The last time I saw Sigur Ros was at a festival in Sydney and it was on a really nice slope, we were quite a way back but it was perfect for the light show they had on. The screens just wouldn't capture that for me so much.

We need to petition the festival to ensure they dont clash. Its the only way...
