They can't be the last Bestival headliner, they're in Berlin that night.

Radiohead did a European festival tour in 2012 & didn't play at any UK festivals, they just did a couple of arena dates instead. Perhaps history will repeat itself this time around.

Very much coming to terms with the fact I'll have to book somewhere else outside of the UK if I want to see em this summer. Not a bad thing - Berlin fest for example is very affordable, albeit shit line-up. If flights to Lisbon weren't so damned expensive that'd be doable as well, bloody school holidays. I reckon Electric Picnic will throw a spanner in the works too.

Either that or pay over the odds for an arena ticket in the autumn, not so keen on that though.

Adele not being announced now at the perfect time + Neil's radiohead info + Emily saying British bands = Adele bailed and Radiohead stepped in. Believe

I love you FloorFiller and your damn eternal optimism.

If Radiohead play / headline then I'm ascribing it to the vibes you've put out into the cosmos.

Well, when you have Radiohead headlining every festival under the sun this summer, its a bit dissapointing that Glastonbury chose Muse and Coldplay over them innit.,

I don't think the festival choose certain bands over others though, I would LOVE Radiohead. But the pool of headliners is so small that if Coldplay and Muse are both available they're not going to say no are they?

They may just opt to play a couple of UK shows to!

& if they don't, we shall all tie you to the top of the Pyramid, set you alight & sing the lyrics to 'someone like you' with a tear in our eyes for the thought of what could have been.

Here's my new theory, for those who have heard one of the new Radiohead songs that Thom played in Paris (Silent Spring), it is highly likely that their new album will be very preachy about environmentalism and stuff. I mean that seemed to be the only thing that Thom cared about nowadays.

Maybe, just maybe, Radiohead agreed to headline Glastonbury if they are given the Saturday TV Spot, since they want to preach about their message to a larger audience.

(or maybe Adele bailed and they stepped in)

Or maybe they've pulled out because people keep pissing all over the site.

Why's everyone so depressed?! To me, the fact Muse have been announced this week of all weeks makes it seem less likely that Adele is headlining. Why on earth would they not announce her tonight given the week she's had? This makes me think Adele has decided not to play/is playing but not headlining/is co-headlining with someone else.

I really don't see how this makes Radiohead less likely.

I now find myself believing this is the most likely outcome. Whether it's because I've seen you're courageous optimism constantly or whether I actually believe it or not I'm unsure, but I'm happy to go with it until it's ruled out

I think the general thought was that it'd be Muse OR Radiohead, but yep I agree, Radiohead are as likely as ever (whether that's not likely at all or very likely is for us to decide)

The only thing that knocks this theory for me is that it looks like Muse went rogue and announced of their own back

I get the argument that Coldplay, Muse and Radiohead would be too similar, but I don't think the Eavii would see it that way. You have the three biggest British bands of the past 20 years headlining. It's huge. If they are all available to book for your festival, why would you care that they are 'too similar' or 'have headlining twice/three times before'. I don't think your average guy/gal watching the news is going to be winging about that. They probably have no idea how many times Radiohead have played before anyway!

We have to keep this optimism train going! The Latitude announcement is the big one. If we get through that, it's happening.
