Just shown the video to my wife, without any of the backstory, and said to her "Do you think he confirms RH are playing?".

She said "Yes...it looks like he does it by accident though".

Staright to TBC now surely...

But does your wife know Radiohead are from Oxford? If not then her evidence in this public enquiry should be thrown out of court

She thinks Radiohead sing "Why Does It Always Rain On Me".

Is she the one you include in your pub quiz team, just for the laughs?

She's actually very knowledgable about greek mythology, musical theatre and English Literature which is very handy in a pub quiz. However I don't know whether she prefers the live or recorded version of True Love Waits.

It 100% says Foals in the top left corner, you can see the F and S

On a few angles Disclosure is potentially the band in the quadrant below Foals.... Underworld comes from the front ... so that means Radiohead and Skepta on the right in the murk potentially and maybe the top 2 are Oxford bands and the bottom others he thought would suit the audience.

christ it really could go either way with Michael

he knew Radiohead were playing and brought them up and then realised he'd fucked up and tried to cover it up by saying 'they need another crack at it', or

he just got distracted by the subject of Oxford bands and decided to bring them up in an attempt to say a band the guy might recognise

very weird that he'd bring them up if they're not playing though. you can almost see the 'oh shit what have i said!?' look in his eyes

I never believed until now.

Even if he does mention them because of the Oxford link. I think it's more likely that's he's mentioning another Oxford act on the lineup rather than just any Oxford band.

He's on the topic of the lineup and asking the guy if he likes acts from it. Why would he then randomly ask him if he likes an Oxford band in the middle of that?

*Guy asks question about booking lineup*

"Have you seen the full lineup? Incredible. You like Underworld? How about Foals, they're from Oxford? Radiohead? Disclosure? Skepta?"

"Oh I like Radiohead!"

"Right well they aren't playing but the rest are"

"Why did you mention them in a list of acts playing the festival, then?"

"Because they're from Oxford like Foals are"

"What?"

Like my mum once said the  singer of roxy music was Bryan ferritt

Reminds me of that time on Pointless when the category was guitarists, there was a picture on Jimi Hendrix and the answer the contestant gave was;

"Lenny Hendrix"

That was a really badly asked  question about Michael's role in the festival though wasn't it?

yeah i'd think that guy was an absolute wasteman if he hadn't inadvertently caused Michael to seemingly slip up about Radiohead

it's that for me.

He mentioned Underworld and the guy didn't know them. then he says:

"how about the Foals from Oxford. the Foals are from Oxford aren't they? aren't Radiohead? do you like Radiohead? yeah they're good aren't they. Disclosure and Skepta, I've chosen three of the new bands"

it's pretty clear to me that he's just making the association of bands from Oxford.

the question was about what he does, and he starts talking about 12 people booking the bands, then starts talking about the lineup, then mentions Oxford, then mentions Radiohead. there's several other times in the interview where he just goes off on tangents all over the place really.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
