Hi both - I would highly recommend signing up for Neil's www.checkpage.co.uk thingy and following the Gigs&Tours links.  After several false alerts during the week (prob just small edits on the pages) it went mental with one SMS ping after another as I was sat delayed on the runway on Friday afternoon, and I managed to get 2 standing tickets for the Friday show.   I've had other browserpage monitors running but they've been useless, and Neil's one sends you an SMS with the link so I just went straight in and managed to stop shaking enough to put my details in.

Of note is the G&T links now state "not available" for standing tickets rather than sold out ... may possibly indicate a few more coming on (or not).  Good luck.

Thanks a lot I really appreciate it. How do I work it? Do I have to pay to register and how do I set up the alerts? Sorry to be a pain

No worries, it's pretty simple - just go to http://www.checkpage.co.uk/ and register with your email address and mobile number.  Yeah you have to pay (a fiver for 40 alerts, more than you need, but absolutely worth it for the prize on offer).  Neil has already set the relevant links up so you just select the ones you want once you've registered.  I would only bother with the Gigs & Tours links - at my request he added ones for WASTE and somewhere else, and all they did was send loads and loads of false alerts.

Worth also setting up an alert (don't ask me how) for the Roundhouse's Twitter page.  I looked at their earlier tweets and for the odd gig they had tweeted availability of a few tickets on the day of the gig.

40 minutes in! Does Michael Eavis confirm Radiohead?

Thats very interesting actually! It goes one of 2 ways, he's either talking about them because they're from Oxford like Foals or he's reading their name of the back of the page he's got in his hand...

Ahaha I love that - namedrops them with a bunch of confirmed acts, realises they aren't confirmed then tries to cover it with 'Oh Radiohead must be due for another crack at it'. Cheers Mike.

(or alternatively he's talking bollocks - but nah)

HAHA that's mental. What on earth is going on? Surely ME can't have confirmed Radiohead several months ago and we all absolutely missed it?

Wasn't it 18th May?

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
