Blimey. 4 attempts coming into Wembley queue between 10,000 and 15,000 … this morning joined at 641 … 4 x Front Standing secured by 11.04. FWIW on all previous attempts I joined the waiting room precisely 30 mins before. Today I didn’t join til 10.45. 1 very, very happy daughter here. Good luck to everyone else trying today.
  2. Hi Emma - not in London itself but only 40 mins from Waterloo though if you could get tube/train to me, and that’s directly on the festival route so less than 2 hrs to then be parked up. Have ample car space and my timings same as yours. If this could work, let me know and we can then sort the finer details.
  3. Just sent you pm mate, have a read and let me know
  4. Thanks yeah, it arrived a days ago. Surprisingly decent power, which ofc means it uses water quite quickly. An on-off switch on the shower head would have been ideal, as opposed to on the submerged pump, but still I’m impressed with it. 👍
  5. Hi dude Sorry just seen this. Camberley's only a 15 minute detour (I'm in Hartley Wintney) so shouldn't be an issue. I'll drop you a dm and we can take it from there.
  6. After years of happily keeping clean-ish with wet wipes, I've discovered just how therapeutic a morning shower is at Glastonbury. A friend had one of those Hozelock pump things with a shower head - it's great but a tad bulky so thinking of combining this rechargeable shower head/pump with a collapsible bucket. The reviews are good (and seem genuine) but wondering if anyone's got first-hand experience of using/owning one? Would also come in useful for cleaning the dog at home. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Andes-Portable-Operated-Showerhead-Rechargeable/dp/B075ZVZJMT
  7. Just to add - route down will be M3 (from Junction 5, just after Fleet Services) and A303 - so en-route pickup also possible if you're not too far off-track.
  8. Anyone in this area looking to get there and back this year (2023), I have space for 2 in my car. Will be leaving Weds morning and heading back likely Monday am. Just need to contribute to petrol/parking costs, and be subjected to my tunes for 2 hours (shared playlist negotiable).

Interesting point you make about darkness. Saw them at the Olympic Stadium (2017?) where they started around 6.45pm or so - I actually missed the first few songs. Great gig but an absence of light (it was a glorious day too) would have made the setting better
  10. Never knew that Prince was even in the frame for 2014. Kinda thought the 2011 episode was that and done. Any insights Neil as to why he decided not to play in 2014?

    Queue watch

Is this a sustainability thing because of the packaging? Would Pringles pass with their recyclable containers?
  12. Yes the mushroom seats are very cool .... but it was more the oddness of a cat at festival that I've not seen since
  13. An old dude with all this amazing wooden furniture he’d made, in the Healing Fields area - including a huge table everyone came and sat at. But more to the point, he had a big ginger cat who was ridiculously chilled and just sat there getting fuss from everyone. Last seen late 00’s.
  14. As a “Person of Colour” let me tell you I’m sure you mean well, but this statement is overflowing in well-meaning, do-gooding bullshit - and *that* phrase (and “BAME”) are just the most patronising, condescending sweeping generalisations (anyone see what I did there?) ever. I actually came close to writing “virtue signalling”. But I didn’t 😉 Why does the festival need to “encourage” minority demographics? It’s f**king Glastonbury. If people don’t get what it stands for, whatever their creed or colour, that’s their loss. What do you want to change to encourage them and - given the ticket day clusterf**ks we all endure - how would they have any higher chance of ticket success anyway? If you’re proposing minority skin colour should enable me to get a ticket easier than you, well I will support that 😉 In 25 years I’ve never looked round and thought “this place is too white!”. Did Jay Z/Kanye/Stormzy have any impact on ethnic quotients? Can’t say I noticed but then I missed them all cos I was elsewhere listening to someone who’s skin colour never even registered to me, not feeling under-represented at all.
  15. Oxfam stewarding places will randomly pop up. Me and 2 friends all got ours around mid-May last time. Register up then set-up a web page monitor. DM me if you need help with this. Bit of schlep with 3 x 8 hrs shifts but at this late stage it’s a decent option. Good luck.
  16. Ah you’re so much better at these opinions than me!
  17. I guess the mistake I made was giving anecdotal facts on a thread asking for opinions. No wonder the controversy! Apologies for not reading the memo.
  18. This is my other account - still can’t recall why I’d set up a 2nd one. If you can come to HW that would be ideal.
  19. It is what I think it is because it’s based on multiple first-hand experiences. If people want to create their own conclusions and beliefs from what I’ve said and making 2 + 2 = 5 in their heads, I can’t help that.
  20. With you on the former. Worth reiterating I’m referring to the pre-big fence years. And like I also said, there were 1 or 2 fairly fun chats with said groups when we were all mangled and they were less edgy.
  21. My missus said a similar thing to me - in far angrier tones - when she went for the first time, and I warned her what to expect inside on the walk to the gate. This was 2002 when the big fence went up to keep the ticketless out. And when we got to the gate there was what I can only describe as a Harry Enfield sketch come to life 😀 and about 30+ gents all with *that* accent being held by security. Must have been a total coincidence. Or maybe they were putting the accent on for a laugh. Feel free to provide your own evidence to the contrary.
  22. Could you show me - maybe by putting the text in in bold - where I made I generalisation vs stating a fact
  23. Sweeping generalisations are much better these days
  24. The higher chaos, randomness and anarchy are what I miss and that - subjectively - created a better festival vibe. But hey, things move on and it’s nice knowing my tent will be there when I get back.
