The war on on drugs talk...fucking hell I watched them in Manchester in February on a few recommendations (a birthday present from the girlfriend too as we were so convinced we'd like them based so many people saying we would.

Utter utter bollocks. The most boring band I've ever seen. They seem so highly acclaimed so I'm obviously missing something but still. Shite.

The line-up has more than its fair share of toss, but it's also got The Twilight Sad, Modest Mouse, Hot Chip, The Cribs, Charli XCX, St Vincent, Marina & The Diamonds, And So I Watch You From Afar, Jamie T and Admiral Fallow. In all fairness, that's a decent crop of top banana indie acts for a weekend, but the rest of the line-up is so shocking that I can't imagine it being a pleasant atmosphere.

Hot Chip, Charli XCX and ASIWYFA indie bands?

Oh god do not watch the footage to the war on drugs

Fantastic band playing a great set to absolutely no one it's incredibly depressing!

Predicted to my mates that would happen.  Watched them at Werchter and they were stunning.  Having been to T most years and witnessed it's rapid decline, it was obvious the school leavers wouldn't have a clue who they were.

Sad to see T has come to this.

I can't take your opinion of this serious when in another thread you've raved about a Noel Gallagher gig and said its in your top 5.

Different strokes and all that I guess!

Coming from the Motley Crue fan.........................

At least I know it's them when I hear a new song. How many dance acts can you identify when you first hear a song?

Opening keyboard riff, Dum dum dum dum, drums and keyboard bit, repeat, muffled keyboard bit getting clearer as the drum goes faster; pause....boom.

Yeah, that's erm.... everybody.

Was there yesterday & can't believe how much of a shambles it was. To get in we were in a badly managed queue for hours that got out of control with people tearing down fences and charging security.

Nightmare getting between stages despite being a small site.missed first 10 mins of libertines stuck in a crush.

Sound seemed very low. Was there restrictions due to ospreys?

Then had to wait over 2 hours for our bus home. Traffic management seemed poorly thought out.

Know its a new site but they've been organising this festival for decades. How did they make such a mess of it, did they have less time due to only getting license last minute?

Very good point, thats why I like dance music you can identify as it comes in. The EDM style shite is paint by numbers and follows a formula.

I can't be doing with them either, tried but failed.

Yes.

Apart from Charli XCX, she's not an indie band, she's an indievidual.

RE: The War On Drugs

I'm in a similar boat to efcfanwirral . I went to see them in Nottingham a while ago, I like most of the new album and their older stuff, but live it just really didn't cut it for me. Meandering throwback rock, I almost left early.

What was the turning point when the festival started turning into a bad direction? Did they purposely start booking different type of artists to get a younger crowd or did they notice the crowd getting younger then react to that or what? Whatever it was, it hasn't really worked because it all seems to be kids now.

It has turned into Scotland's Fair Saturday......( Traditional summer holiday ) Ellis and the Police have completely ruined it over the past 7 years.

Had a laugh reading Ellis yesterday when he said he wishes he had the time to go and see about 8 bands he mentioned..

their all on at the same time as everything that's half decent clashes.

Wickerman   has a better line up than titp and its on til 5am.
