I go there clubbing all the time, which has included live sets. It's small, grotty and the stage is quite high. It's a great place for clubbing and the live sets are fine, not sure how it would be for a proper gig though. Drinks are expensive: ~£4.50 for a 330ml can of lager on club nights.

I've been looking for somewhere to go out in London for my birthday so after reading this I checked it out and there's a John Talabot all nighter on my birthday that's sold out. I'm fed up with this, world.

A new Polica album for March of next year, would welcome them back for a dunt up the JP line up or a slot in The Park

They'd be very welcome back. I spent their set on JP last year being perplexed at how different Channy was in person to how you'd imagine her to be. Wearing rapper hat and odd skull t-shirt and doing weird rapper hand flicking movement.

I've never tried to get tickets on the door when a night has sold out so I don't know if they'll hold any back, but depending on how many of you are planning to go out some may be resold through Resident Advisor in dribs and drabs.

Clubbing in London sometimes needs months of planning. I bought tickets for a December night back in summer. Craziness.

what date(s) and what are you into? i would thoroughly recommend getting down to studio spaces, if you can. the lineups this year are largely outrageous

Yeah I know what you mean. I've only recently moved back from Norwich so I'd forgotten how many places in London require a full plan of action.

Last Saturday of November but to be honest I'm working on some pretty restrictive criteria: uncertain number of people on different budgets with tastes ranging from proper dance heads to chart hits and indie disco types.

i'm just so inclusive Tuna, it's a problem.

First time posting on here. Will be my 2nd Glastonbury next year. Such an amazing festival. What do people reckon on the Sterephonics playing? Checked previous line ups and they don't seem to have played for a long time.

They aren't so popular anymore, especially on this board that's for sure

I don't think you could ever rule them out playing, but they aren't very relevant anymore and they'd probably still want a big slot IE pyramid sub/third, unlikely in my eyes

The two I would recommend from that weekend

(£5, only tickets OTD) Move D all night at Phonox (er, Plan B in Brixton revamped) http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?760401

(£15) Simian Mobile Disco, BARNT, Seb WIldblood etc, XOYO http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?744087

  • 2 weeks later...

I am just getting into The Juan Maclean which is a bit of a surprise to me after trying so hard to like LCD and not really getting them.

Any chance of The Juan Maclean this year?

probably not, live shows are rare enough and he/they did some gigs in 2015 for the most recent album, so I'd imagine the best we'll get is a DJ set unfortunately.

would be great fun though

I will be honest mate, I had never heard of them/him till someoneine mentioned them on here.

I had a mooch about and seen the LCD connections which made me a little hesitant. Then I was running home from work a few weeks or so ago. I had Deezer on flow of bands you may like. A song came on which I really liked. Stopped and had a look at my phone. Low and behold it was the Juan Maclean. Then I went and had a proper listen.
