Having a pissed up Friday Smiths night. Morrissey and marr just need paying off to play, fucking quality songs.

Steve Mason too please.

The Smyths are infinitely more enjoyable than whatever excruciating shitshow an aged Morrissey/Marr combo would put on.

It could happen, I'd have laughed you right off the boards if yesterday you'd said he'd be doing Coachella.

i wasn't that surprised to see him on there - they always seem to have a couple of acts like him quite high up on the lineup that make me insanely jealous (Neutral Milk Hotel in the past springs to mind). i'd had it in my head that he was too big for the Park, but thinking about it, with his current album, he's perfect for it. but yeah... i'm not hopeful. life just isn't that kind

I saw them last time they reformed... Omar looked bored as fuck (gig was still good though), interesting they are doing it again, would kind of rather a The Mars Volta appearance, but then they would have to get some kind of band back together for that.

I thought Omar and Cedric would just do Antemasque for a while, but seems they are bored of that already :D ... maybe Cedric didn't have anyone to make him tea on stage.

The rest of this list is all grand too.

My only addition to repeat my plea for Kiev please.

yeah there's been a lot of talk about what was up with Omar last time round. think the main reason given was that his dad died shortly before the tour started and it hit him hard. really not sure what's going on with this current reformation, as there's been absolutely zero word on it from the band itself (apart from Jim Ward saying it was the first he'd heard of it when an interviewer asked him). all very weird. wouldn't surprise me if they say nothing until they walk out on stage for this festival they've been announced for

Some good, interesting and unusual choices on this thread recently. Nice one. Yeah, i'd be interested in Jeff Lewis, Floating points, M83, beach house, real estate, and destroyer among others

I definitely hope Flo Po gets a good slot on one of the main stages, and hopefully he puts the work in and does a few DJ sets too

ooh yeah Real Estate, hopefully due a new album this year

Seems Martin Courtney is touring his solo stuff at the moment, up until February as far as I'm aware. So it isn't completely out of the question but I think they would be more likely next year after the release of their next album.

I've only heard a little bit of Martin Courtney's solo record...it sounded like rather insipid, watered-down Real Estate...amd I really like Real Estate. A little bit too bed-wetting for me...

Agree that RE unlikely at festivals this summer, especially as they did them in summer 2014 (caught the end of their set at Green Man).

    • Considering how popular of a booking Scooter have been I think they'd go down well
    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
