Have just seen on BBC4 tonight they've got a film about Daft Punk and then straight after one on Kraftwerk. What a dream Saturday night that would be on the pyramid. Daft Punk into Kraftwerk.

I can but dream.

Gah, that documentary has convinced me Daft Punk will never do Glastonbury. Coachella was a one off. Genuinely don't think they realise how massive they would be at Glastonbury

Only really including bands with recent albums / something coming out / could be feasible...

Radiohead (looks doubtful AGAIN now, as every year...)

PJ Harvey (Yay - confirmed!)

Foals (maybe)

Frightened Rabbit (likely)

Joanna Newsom (maybe)

Deerhunter (Unlikely)

Animal Collective (maybe - new album is not good but would still like to see them)

Guy Garvey (likely)

The Go! Team (doubt it)

Sun Kil moon (doubt it)

M83 (maybe)

Kurt Vile (maybe)

A load others I've probably forgot. Though if you had to ask me a few I wouldn't want there - Adele and Muse would be about top of that list. Shaping up to be some very uninspiring (though popular not on these boards) headliners

I now have a short wishlist of

Tame Impala, Explosions in the Sky, LCD Soundsystem, M83, Earth, Wind and Fire and Hudson Howake. 2 that I'd love but think are exceedingly unlikely to be there are Foals and Kendrick

A couple/few of them and my weekend will be made

Foals exceedingly unlikely? They're a pretty strong rumour now what with not being exclusive at Reading.

Doves Sunday night.

They don't exist anymore do they?

I know it does not exactly come under the Doves moniker, but Space Face is one of my all time fave tunes.

They went and did their own thing for a while but all gone quiet.

Their show in JPT a few years back is one of the best gigs I've ever seen there. SFA did Park last year so you never know.

I just can't see it happening, I know they still stand a chance of subbing probably, but I can't see it happening. Im very happy to be wrong though if it happens

Chvrches. New Order. Tame Impala.  Royal Blood. Foals. LCD Soundsystem. Last Shadow Puppets. Strokes. The National. The xx. Haim. Justice. Bon Iver. Circa Waves. Wolf Alice. PJ Harvey. Maximo Park.

Updated from my last list and still consciously avoiding Pyramid headline acts:

Chvches. New Order. Tame Impala. Foals. LCD. TLSP. HAIM. Justice. Wolf Alice. PJ Harvey. Daughter. Savages. Emma Pollock.

Out  of that 12 I've got 1 x confirmed, 1 x TBC and 3 x SR so despite all my bleating about Radiohead I can't really complain thus far.

  • 4 weeks later...

Just seen Legend of a Band at my local theatre.....wow was impressed!

I was expecting some lame tribute band, but these guys are all accomplished musicians, two from the Moody Blues

(Gordy Marshall - Drums and Paul Bliss - Keyboards), one from the latest incarnation of 10CC (Mick Wilson Lead vocals) and one mean lead guitarist who has played with nearly everyone!!!

Excellent renditions of Go Now, Nights in white satin, Tuesday afternoon, Question not to mention a superb War of the Worlds 'Eve of War and 'Forever Autumn'.

Would be a perfect fit for a traditional Glastonbury?

Touring UK rest of this year....:)

1st attempt didn't go too well (despite most of the above touring around the fest :(). I'll add these...

  • M83
  • Hinds
  • Wild Beasts
  • Drenge
  • Kurt Vile (I refuse to believe he's exclusive at Latitude)

Didn't bother including anyone heavily rumoured (e.g. Foals, LCD...)

I hope that my Friday, Saturday and Sunday goes a little something like this:

Friday:

Other Stage: James

Avalon: Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel/Pyramid: ZZ Top

West Holts: Air, Carlos Santana/Underworld

Saturday:

The Park: DIIV

The Gully: Bixiga 70

The Spike/Wow Stage: Fatima Yamaha

Other: New Order

Sunday:

Pyramid: Jeff Lynne's ELO

Other: PJ Harvey

West Holts: Floating Points, Earth, Wind & Fire.

Would be very, very happy with that.

Given what we currently know of I'm holding out for one or two of

Air, Earth Wind and Fire, Jungle, Aphex Twin, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Floating Points, Four Tet, Ricardo Villalobos, Hudson Mohawke and Tame Impala

And in a world of fantasy, SUFJAN STEVENS

So HAIM are out since my last post, everyone else still in there. I've not tempted fate by naming you-know-who and will continue to leave them off.

Other less likely but would be great to see are Bon Iver, Strokes, Air, Sufjan Stevens, Kendrick, Sunflower Bean.

Not really expecting any of those above, would be a bonus. But given how good my original list is holding up I'm in no position to complain.

    • Really well done, Primavera. Maybe the biggest name on the lineup as a surprise. (Ecpecially if Robert joins this)
    • There's one way it can get bigger- if Robert Smith joins her on stage
