Has the BBC stage (presenters) always been adjacent the ribbon tower? I don't remember seeing it there last year and spent quite a bit of time over that way

In the past there have been two stages - one up by the Tree Cafe at the top of the Park and one by the farm.

Last year - from the coverage - it looked like they just had the one in The Park.

Cool thanks, must have not been paying much attention, although to be fair, I think most of last year was spent watching where I was walking because of the mud

Interesting, I am sure they said that the dimensions of this stage are actually larger as well.

Looks like it is the same type as the Leeds stage, but maybe a smaller config.

Only seeing 4 posts for the main roof, looks like the Leeds stage may use 6. So maybe not as deep but with the same large overhang at the front. The separate goal posts may mean bigger screens this year.

Serious Stages are local to Glastonbury with links to the festival so wouldn't surprise me if they sometimes used it to test new setups like last year. Probably less time constraints than other festivals so they can have the field for a few months if needed.

I wonder why they've changed it though? Somebody posted a link a few pages back with an article stating the new other stage was designed specifically for Glastonbury, odd that they've switched to something else after two years. Maybe an other event wanted it so they agreed on using an alternative?

So the last couple of years have been the "new" Other Stage, but this is the "Other" "new" Other Stage, because an other event wanted it as an alternative so this Other stage had to find another stage? This is going to be a nightmare to discuss over late night beverages...

Haha, in a nut shell yes, my head hurts! Maybe the big secret is the old new other stage is being rellocated elsewhere and there is a whole new other stage?

Looks like it is stuck...again, at 15:10 this time...

Yep, stuck again.

Seems we missed them cutting the grass in the pyramid field.

Looking dusty too! Another absolutely glorious day down on the farm.

That doesn't like the other stage from last 2 years NOR does it even look like the field?? Looking out from other stage to the left there  isn't a row of trees is there? If it's the railway line and those trees are hidden by the food & drink vendors then the stage is moved well over from usual position. To my tired bloodshot & teary eyes anyway !

Edit: my bad, that's grass cutting in west holts and the last pic is other stage. Must go specsavers

No I agree, the first two pics look more like the Park stage! Last one looks like the interesting Other New Other stage though

    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
    • Dream Blink day    Blink - Turnstile - Neck Deep - The Story So Far
    • The vibe for Avalanches was spectacular, but i totally understand not wanting to wait in a queue for however long it was.   I had to miss Ethel Cain to queue. Bit annoying, but I had never seen the Avalanches before (either live or DJ set) and it was every bit as joyful as I hoped.   Great little stage, either way.
