Looks like the mud is building up nicely today :/

Not mud, it's giving the grass lots of much needed moisture so it can grow a good strong root structure so it can withstand 100,000 people walking and dancing on it next month.

If only it was definitely 'either / or' rather than possibly 'both / and'...

Yeah but that would be boring and probably coachella, only thing you can do is plan for everything.

Second area of superfence starting to left of shot...

Ran down the east side of site last night, there are a number of small sections being started along Cockmills lane, seem to be starting at gate locations.  One section up by recycling, one down by the ever growing wood chip pile. They will join up later on.  The one in shot is the third down that side.

Why does it fill me with such dread to see the site so damp and with muddy roads!

I was so much happier a few days ago:)

Beautiful weather around now last year... 5 weeks to go?

I've absolutely no doubt that this year is going to be perfect, i just can't see last year being repeated at all - so on that front i'm happy. The rain now will be good for the land and getting the building works done now will give any damage time to recover and it will be 2 weeks of pure sunshine before we get there for sure:)

I just think having had a few bad experiences (a high percentage of wet ones considering my limited 8 visits) that i'm conditioned now to hating the sight of rain full stop!

Think that's probably why i enjoyed my 4 years in the middle east so much:)

Bring it on I say, the month or so without rain made me very uneasy. It was obvious that it was going to rain at some point and the longer it didn't rain meant the inevitable miserable endless deluge we always got at some point during spring/summer would come, and the longer the dry spell went on the more likely it would be to affect the Festival. If it rains solidly for two weeks now there will still be time for it to dry out and be fine.

The year of the lightning storm (2014 or 2015) the one that shut down the stages and was followed by a monumental downpour for quite a while...

I remember thinking...that's it, we are screwed for rest of the weekend...

ground was bone dry again by end of the following day and was happily sitting on the ground again

so don't fret about the wet...plenty of time for everything to dry out

Well you're going to get your wish today by the looks of it...

Well I'm of the flat-earthist, completely irrational and illogical mindset that there is only so much rain to fall out of the sky and the more of it that falls when it's not Glastonbury, the better :P

    • While i whole heartedly agree with both these statements on a personal preference level -     ive come to reluctantly accept that bland is always popular and il normally just show myself to the other stages where the better times are to be had during the Pyramid headliner slots.
    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
