Open Sesame are the dog's danglies, local too and my go to at EOTR, they are so, so good.

This, EOTR's options are great and really works, to the point I'm not taking much booze with me this year. Going off topic a bit; I was increasingly disappointed with the beer options at Glastonbury over the last few visits. I understand it is a much larger festival and therefore there are supply logistics to overcome, plus I presume Glastonbury receive bids from major suppliers for the main beer options(?) - I mean, who would choose Carlsberg?! 😉 But surely there is a way of improving beer options?!

Same here, EOTR was my 'backup' last year as I didn't get a ticket for Glastonbury, but tbh, I had such a good time, I'm fairly certain EOTR will now be my annual festival. I can't justify the cost of doing more than one, particularly with the current financial crisis that is set to only get worse over the next year.

Might struggle for a sleeping bag at the Shaftesbury Tesco, it's not an Extra. But there is Asda and Aldi in Gillingham (also Factory Shop which is likely to have a sleeping bag). There's also Lidl next door to Tesco in Shaftesbury. I'd be tempted to take a minor detour to the Tesco in Shepton Mallet.

Disappointed by the loss of Nala Sinephro, but some nice additions. Can't wait now!

I wasn't at the festival, but had it a couple of weeks ago, for the 1st time. I'd avoided it despite being in close proximity and taking no precautions with others in the household having had it on 6 occasions since the start of the pandemic. I think the BA4/BA5 version is more able to get past immunity and I've heard of more '1st timers' getting it in the last few weeks. But also as population we're mixing more, so it's a combination I suspect. EDIT: what others have said above! 🙂 Also, I hope everyone feels much better v soon.

I've done Glastonbury from Thurs onwards for the last 3 now, 2019 I cycled in and that was a game changer. I felt much fresher throughout until the Sunday night. If I try for tickets and successful I will bike it and go in on Thurs again. Likewise, I'm off to EOTR for the 2nd time this year, last year was my first time and I just absolutely loved it. I think I saw more music each day, plus the whole layout, vibe, ease of moving about was so well done. The beer options were so much better too and there was always somewhere to sit and eat.

Was the Persian place called Open Sesame? If so, they're local, from Frome and I agree, awesome food!

I didn't get a ticket this time around, having been successful each time since 2010, so I'd had a good run. We went to EOTR for the first time last year and had such a great time, immediately got a ticket for this year. We've already decided EOTR will be the alternative if we can't get Glastonbury tickets. I also wanted to see how I felt during and after this Glastonbury and evaluate whether I wanted to try for tickets again. Having watched the TV coverage and reading the forums over the w'end, I'm not sure I will try for 2023. I really enjoyed 2019 but by Sunday PM, I was done in. I cycled in for 2019, which was a revelation; showers and some of the cleanest loos on site, that certainly helped a lot and would be the only way I would travel in again. However I think my tolerance and having had my head turned by EOTR I think I'm done with Glastonbury for a bit.... he says.

Yeah, I loved the vibe of it, the ease of moving about, the people, the food and booze, just everything was so good. It ticked all the boxes music wise and general vibe of it. It suited me perfectly and like Glastonbury it's only 20 or so mins away from home. I've had a good run at Glastonbury and many other more dance music related festivals and the 90s free parties over the last 25+ years. We'll def try again for tickets in October, but my gut feel is EOTR is the one I'll be definitely be on the early bird again. More than happy to meet up this year at EOTR for a beer. Actually is there a EOTR efests meet-up?... I'll go check!

Half and half here, part of our group got tickets and I'm so pleased for them and it's great to see their social media posts. I've been reading these forums for the last few weeks and there is that pang of disappointment I can't deny it. However last year we all went to our other local festival End Of The Road and simply loved that festival and we're going again in September. It didn't have that visual impact that Glastonbury does (not many do tbh), but every element of EOTR was brilliant. So it's now become our 'backup' for Glastonbury, but tbh, given how much I enjoyed EOTR (and I'm getting older!), I could easily see it becoming a permanent replacement. Will thoroughly enjoy watching/listening to Glastonbury this weekend, then do EOTR and take stock after that I think. I've v tempted to go for another bike ride over towards Pilton later, but I think that might just bring on FOMO!
