Any more than Muse's?

Yes. he's not doing the wall any more anyway, but it takes days to put the structure in place. There's a timelapse somewhere on youtube (I can't get on it at work) that shows them putting it up in a stadium in South America.

I had half a thought that David Gilmour might do it this year given that he's touring.

I cant imagine gilmour will be rushing to play the festival after the organisers callously turned down his best mate's dying wish to play the festival. In favour of kings of leon.

Reliable as ever Russy.

I'd rather see Roger Waters doing an Amused to Death set than wall material.  That album is as relevant today as it was when it was released and I frequently return to it as much as any Floyd album.

Bumping with nowt to say simply to keep a thread on the first page is as bad as the Korean spammers yo.

Anyway. I do have something to say. Dunno if it's been discussed as I skipped a few pages here and there but this footage from the current Adele tour that I happened upon seems to paint a bit of a different picture than the 'boring ballads' talk. Can easily see it all going down well.

And a rain machine, no less! Not that we'll need a machine at Glasto.

She does have a few upbeat numbers and if she works out her set right it will go down well.

Her new single isn't bad actually, I know it's a ballad but I imagine it will be quite a big moment of her set.

Sounds like boring ballads to me apart from Rolling In The Deep which is her best tune by a country mile. Zzzzz

Anyone who thinks Adele isn't going to smash it is living in cloud cuckoo land.

Absolutely. All this talk of 'can she headline?' 'does she have the songs?' 'does she have the stage presence?' is completely pointless. The answer is yes. The only question is whether she would agree to do it, and all signs seem to suggest that she has.

Oh bugger, so it was. Promise I'm not trying to repost on Nal.

And yeah I thought so. A lot more going on than I expected anyway. Really can't imagine the mass walkouts that people have foretold.

There's a lot of stuff going on that isn't going to be easily reproduced on the Pyramid though.

I think she will go down very well, she isn't daft and will change the set to make sure it keeps an audience not 100% familiar with her album tracks.

She has sold a ridiculous amount of albums and it's a bit of a big deal for Glastonbury to get someone at the peak of their career to make her first headline slot.

she'll come, sing her dreary songs everyone will clap and it'll be over and done with. The "did you see adele" thread will drop off the front page of this forum within a week and the whole sorry saga will be barely spoken of ever again.

"Doing a mumfords" it's called.

I'm not an adele fan but unsure she can be put in the same bracket as mumford and sons

I'm sure Adele will 'smash it', but at the same time I don't think she's going to majorly change any opinions. Those that find her dreary and boring will still feel that way, and those that love her and connect with her songs will love it.

I thought Coldplay's last headline set was mega and they 'smashed it', but I still find them boring and dull. You can find something impressive but still not be a fan of it.

it's exactly the same scenario. They were absolutely massive worldwide when they headlined. They make dull music for the masses. And they have never been spoken of again.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
