You're right it wasn't very good, it was absolutely fucking amazing

Soz fellas. Gonna have to disagree there. Interesting they weren't nominated when Lonerism came about, but that's hardly a surprise.

The list for international artist is hilarious though: Tame Impala, Alabama Shakes, Eagles of Death Metal, Major Lazer, and U2.

Probably because in a lot of people's eyes, it was a better all round album that has propelled them to a new level. Just didn't have elephant or backwards on it.

That's true actually, hadn't even thought about that. Lazarus just for the sheer change in its effect and meaning. Who has won it?

One Direction.

The fucks give Bowie a poxy "icon who co-incidentally just dropped dead" award, but they don't seem to have noticed he released one of the albums of his career.

His album didn't come out in the right time period. It'll win next year, & he'll be up for male solo artist

Fair dos, all opinions. Lonerism an excellent album too, would be great if they were at the fest this year.

Yeah its not on really, Blackstar deserves far more than a courtesy award.

How in god's name have One Direction released a video deemed worthy of an award?

    • Hmm, weird- Rush are playing the Co-Op live on the 12th and the 14th, and Megadeth are the meat in that sandwich - so they have to roll everything in, roll it out again, only to roll it back in and then out - here's hoping for a prog hokey-cokey with all manner of bizarre time signatures and drum solos!
    • Depends what you mean by seeing 'more stuff' about it.    I definitely don't trust the original Sun article.

    • Chill. There is no chance Sziget will be cancelled by the government. Even the prime minister held a press conference today, where he confirmed this.   Magyar said they do not want to shut down the country or prevent events from taking place. He gave the example that vetoing an event would be like completely cutting off a large consumer’s electricity supply for the organizers. However, just as they have not taken such a measure against large consumers, they have not taken steps to cancel events either. (Magyar did not name a specific event, but he was presumably referring specifically to the Sziget Festival.) At the same time, Péter Magyar stressed that if disruptions occur in the system or the heatwave persists, it could become necessary to postpone or reschedule events (example: some Hungarian football games will probably be held in daylight, moved to a few hours earlier, to save energy), although he believes there is currently little chance of that happening. This is particularly true for events that rely entirely, or largely, on their own energy sources.
    • If the campervan field residents aren’t allowed to cut through orchid they’ve got a brutal walk on their hands.   otherwise not too many surprises
