All the bars are open. Think stuff happens in the SE corner. 100% of the times I've been I've said I'll not get too drunk on the Weds and 100% of the time I've been too excited and plastered by 7pm.

it may appear like that but in fact not all the bars are open
Most bars are open { although if there is light demand then the Bar Manager may close down a bar early }
I will be sent the rough times and which WBC ones are planned to be open so if I remember will post them here } and will hope to have the times for the Avalon bars as well { as they have a few that will not be open on the Wednesday }

Last year was the first year I got to the stone circles for the burning of the giant wooden pigeon and the best fire work display I've ever seen, then we went to shangri-la as they had some djs on on heaven , it made for a great start to the festival

Never make plans on Wednesday night. Just wander around, sit and drink for a bit, wander somewhere else, drink some more and continue until you pass out. It's more fun that way.

This.

Deffo Green Fields area and Croissant Neuf. As well as the famous Band Stand I highly recommend The Small World Stage for music. Some great wee treats and ive been very lucky to catch some excellent artists.

After suffering massive burn out by Saturday night last year I'll be taking it very steady Wednesday & Thursday, although I'm pretty sure I said that last year

i say that every year. i am a complete mess by sunday and just want to go home. saturday is a real struggle, but sunday is never enjoyable.

i am determined to be different this year but i know it won't happen.

The advice on wondering people have been giving is good, don't rule out SE corner either. I ended up in the London Underground last year on the Wednesday night, and to my surprise, once you were inside it might as well have been the Saturday.

Did Glastonbury ever get the go ahead for amplified sound on the Wednesday evening?
I'm sure I remember reading they applied for it at the same time as the licence extension. But can't remember if it got the thumbs up

One reason I love the Wednesday is because everyone goes 100%. The mixture of happiness, friends and alcohol is exceptional.

This.

Stone Circle is good but will agree it gets way too busy there now so may try something different this year. Everyone always goes too hard on Wednesday, it's just natural, every holiday in my lifetime you are too excited 1st night and always end up drinking too much. Also, all of the alcohol you may have brought is still normally reasonably cold / chilled so you drink more I think as it's nice to drink cold alcohol for at least 1 night without paying for it at the bars :cool:

Last year we were in campervan west - went for a walk around the site and ended up at the back of the Pyramid. That's literally the opposite end of the site. Turns out my mate had led us on this trek deliberately so he could have a poo in the flushable toilets. Little bastard.

We had a ball in the SE corner on the Wednesday night last year.

The traipse back to the tent at 5 or 6am was shambolic.

I'd like to spend a good while in The Park this year after the eFests meet on the Wednesday, and then maybe head to the SE corner in the early hours to loosen the limbs up a bit for a weekend of shameless shape throwing

Didn't really venture very far on Wednesday last year .Far to many hot knives in my mates truck really stopped my limbs from making any decision at all to be honest but went for a walk at sunrise Thursday morning .lovely stuff .

It was around 10:30 in 2013 according to a photo timestamp

Pretty sure it was between 8:45-9:30 latest. Not long after the fireworks I got disgracefully wrecked but spent the next 3 hours ensuring 2 mates didn't go clinically insane. Was extremely humorous looking back!

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
