I just go for it.

It's my favourite day of the year. The combination of feeling excited because your back there, copious drink and everything else is just the best feeling.

By Wednesday night I'm usually trying to climb out of a mamouth trough due to having too much 'fun' during the day!!

I'm trying to learn from lessons last year, when it comes to Wednesday. In 2014, I abandoned my camping strategy because I hadn't realised the walk from Gate A would be such a killer. I parked myself in a position that ended up being totally fine - neighbours weren't social but they weren't twats either, so I'll take that. Then I proceeded to get sunburnt (it was actually lovely and sunny on the Wednesday afternoon), and start drinking. I drank way too early, trying to get into the spirit of things, then staggered into some (rubbish) silent disco where I was given 'looks' for singing to the power ballads, and generally being overtly friendly by joining groups to dance with. I suddenly became self-conscious and abandoned the disco, staggered about a bit more, then collapsed in my tent which I'd amazingly managed to find. Woke up with blank spaces instead of memories and a sense of both regret and rejection. Urgh.

I couldn't arrive till Thursday last year, and can't remember what the script was the years before, is the South East corner normally open on the Wednesday night?

It was last year. Was only firing at 50% ish. Not too many places open. Some closed or partially open.

Standard is a stop at the Brother's Bar, dance at The Bandstand and then Stone Circle for fire works... but I'd quite like to venture elsewhere this year. I didn't realise there was anything open in the SE corner really on Weds, so may suggest a wander that way for Weds eve. Weds is awesome - endless possibilities for the weekend ahead!

Leave the baggage of everyday life somewhere on the M5 South and open the cavernous treasure chest of joy and wonderment that this weekend holds for me once I see the Tor (first to see the Tor is boss)

Get tent sorted over a still cold Stowford Press once the house keeping is in order time to have a bimble and get my bearings usually get a bigger map from info points and see whats changed probably over another cider or 3 (but its all about pace) then meet up with some G virgins we know and slowly gravitate towards the stone circle ready for sunset and the burning of the phoenix followed by fireworks making sure I am suitably pickled by time they finish and then bimble into the night and see where we end up.

Get in, pitch tent, catch breath, meet neighbours, collect toddler from pick up point, bimble, maybe see a band or two, go to Efests meet, climb hill above The Park and enjoy the view, bimble a little more, back to tent for sleep.

That's the theory, anyway!

If you're an early worm, one of the joys is just to watch the entire site become alive. Enjoy the people trying and failing to erect their tent. Soak up the sounds of excitement. Forget that the rest of the world exists. Crack open that first can and take the first sip with your eyes closed, relishing the taste with just the sounds of a brand new Glasto around you. Then open up your eyes and take in the sight which is your home for five of the best days of 2015. There's nothing else quite like it.

The usual seems to be drink too much in the afternoon and go for a nap, which turns into a 12 hour sleep.

Although last year I paced myself a bit better, including having a nap in a Glasto Latino bar, and then when I went for my proper nap I woke up a few hours later and went to the Silent Disco. The best Wednesday I've had since I spent the whole of Wednesday drinking on a coach from the North West.

I loved this last year. It was my first time working, so I'd been there since Monday. Seeing people arriving and the camping fields filling with colour was great!
