This weekend would have been perfect glastonbury weather, hope to see it back again in 3 weeks...

You obviously didn't have the wind I did. Would've rendered seeing anyone outside a tent utterly pointless. The Sun and temperatures though - I'd take them.

Quote from over on the netweather forums:

By next weekend this run shows cooler and showery conditions spreading south and covering the UK, 17-18c in the south, around 10-12c for northern Britain and colder on northern hills.

Next week shows a gradual change to warmer and sunnier weather as the Azores high builds north east, the south of the UK becoming very warm, the north stays unsettled for longer but eventually high pressure becomes nationwide and the charts later in low res look very summery, becoming very warm / hot across England and Wales, a fantastic end to the run.

That picture is making my sunburn hurt.

To be fair as it's still some way off the confidence of that happening will be very low but we can enjoy the prospect until 12pm when the next charts will be out and probably looking completely different...!

A lot of reports coming out yesterday and today contradicting the weather sites that Glastonbury is going to be "a mud bath", not sure where they are getting their information from.

The actual UK forecast for that week from the met office is fantastic..

It says there will be rain at times and there will be sun at times...

A mixed picture is on the cards for late June and into early July. Most places will probably be somewhat unsettled with showers or some longer spells of rain spreading in at times. Interspersed with these will be drier conditions with some periods of sunshine. The best of these drier brighter spells will be in the south where it could be warm at times again. Temperatures elsewhere are likely to be on the cool side for the time of year and it may also be rather windy at times, particularly in the northwest.

Perfect in Bristol this weekend. Said to my friends, I'd definitely 'stick'. Blue skies, warm temperatures, and enough of a breeze to stop it from getting too hot. Wind was a little too strong at times, though, and would probably fuck with the sound, particularly on the Other Stage, which seems the worst for that. Still, I'd take it!

I wouldn't read too much into it.

The tabloids run a story predicting a mudbath every single year, it's an annual tradition. It's more dramatic than "weather looks ok" and with a few weeks still to go they don't even have to worry about accuracy as the weather can change between now and then.

I often find even when the festival is happening a lot of news coverage seems to be filmed in the worst possible conditions and in the worst possible areas for mud too... Ignoring the people lounging around in the sun at other times/areas.
