Give Brand New a park headline slot and I'd be more than happy (or is that a ridiculous thing to want? I'm not too sure what's usually acceptable for that stage)

yeah there's no way that would ever happen. i think the only slot they'd ever be given is, like stated earlier, mid Other

They played that before? They deserve a headline slot somewhere really, probably don't have the fan base at Glastonbury for one really.

yeah they were on Other in the middle of the day in 2009. they could possibly do JP as well, but Other seems like the dumping ground for these type of acts - the rare Reading/Leeds act that slips through

That would be perfect - Degausser on The Park at night... I guess it's very unlikely though. They still sell out tours quick, but not sure those people are at Glasto. Think I would rather see them in the JP than on the Other.

Headlined John Peel in 2010 up against Stevie Wonder. Far from packed but bloody enjoyable all the same.

I missed that because the missus was determined to see Stevie Wonder. Would be over the moon if they played again!

what are Ash even up to these days? haven't heard anything from them since that A-Z thing

They've been touring pretty much constantly without too long of a break. Tim took a bit of time off to do that festival collaboration with Emmy The Great a couple of years ago, and has bashed out a solo album plus dates a couple of years ago, but they're back doing the Ash thing this summer. Such a reliable band, they're very underrated in that respect, they've never gone too far from what the band is about, and always delivered a satisfying serving of pop punk.

Not sure how much it will share with glasto but another of the larger US fests has announced a line-up...

I'm going to this - the main attraction for me being location (half hour walk from home) but, as well as the local talent, there's a few great acts in there - been dreaming on here about seeing buddy guy for years.

Has anyone actually considered The Who as a potential headliner yet? I know they played a few years ago, but apart from that is there a logistical reason why they might not play?

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
