Has anyone been to see Noel on his own and not enjoyed themselves?

Yeah, as you said, he's perfect at a festival. I saw him at Isle of Wight and it was truly boss, really good fun, and the crowd were up for it.

However, i saw him on his first arena tour shows, at the MEN, and we got tickets last minute on eBay, and i'm glad, because he was brilliant, but the crowd was so flat it was ridiculous, likewise, done the same for his Liverpool gig, last minute ticket, and the audience was flatter still.

I agree about peoples opinion on Liam having the so called 'Liveliness', shame his music isn't as good!

Really really liking the new album. They're actually sounding like a new band here, rather than one churning out stuff that wasn't good enough to make Oasis albums.

Tipped me over the line of wanting to see em. I still think Glasto is unlikely with the Calling gig so it'll probably have to be a trip down there

Erm, someone else must think it's crap... right? A good song and a couple of half good ones but the rest is pretty throwaway for me. Disappointing considering I quite liked the first one.

Really? I think it's a definite improvement on the 1st Album (which wasn't too bad either). Give it a chance :beach:

i haven't heard the album, and i doubt i ever will. i've heard the current single, which is, to my ears, really, really bad.

but.. there's just something so familliar about his stuff that i cannot hate it. maybe it's my age. Noelly G, as i'm sure nobody ever calls him, is the musical equivalent of my comfy old slippers.

admittedly this comparison would work better had i not just ordered some new slippers, but here we are.

If those new slippers are slightly different, but basically the same as all your other pairs of slippers, then I think the comparison to the recorded work of Noelly G works very well indeed.

By all accounts this is supposedly a completely different beast to his last album / any Oasis album but the two tunes I've heard (Lock all the Doors and Dying of the Light) would have sat very well on Morning Glory / Be Here Now. Riverman is supposedly a smoky psyche blues job (saxophone solo), and the Mexican apparently sounds like a cross between BRMC and QOTSA which I'm excited about hearing. Whatever he does though, he's never going to shake the "Beatles rip-off" tag in the eyes of the non-fan. Shame it doesn't look like he's playing after all but who the hell are the Eavii booking if they're not booking him?

Having just heard the album I can tell you it sounds just like the last album and many Oasis tracks.

It is not bad but it is nothing different.

I thought the Riverman and Right stuff were a bit of departure from the usual. In a good way. The girl with X Ray eyes was a bit bowie esque to me.

We cant go back is a definite Oasis throwback song. It could have easily been a 1995 b side.

Overall I liked the album.
