So i got very little sleep last night so gave this headliner chatter a tiny bit of thouhht...What if we already know the 3rd headliner but didnt think they'd be big enough so have dismissed them

Is Frank Turner the 3rd headliner?

He's British

Has a backing band (the sleeping souls)

Is headlining smaller festivals already and genrally getting good reviews

Probably at the peak of his popularity

Has a few albums under his belt

Hasnt played the festival much recently (could be someone they've tried to get in the past but he wanted too much)

Would be fairly tv friendly compared to Kanye West

Only a though, probably rubbish but its something different i think

So I missed most of last night's chat.

With the resale being next week already, are we assuming that there won't be a lineup announcement until after that?

It could be before it as well, either way it won't be until next week at the earliest

As much as I'd love this to happen, he's just not quite big enough yet, if he plays with the sleeping souls the highest slot he could possibly get is 3rd on the pyramid

Could the lineup be waiting for anyone other than the third headliner? could an afternoon or sub act hold everything up because they want to sell their tour out or haven't fully committed yet?

Or is it just the third headliner to sign on the dotted line?

Or are they just waiting till after all payments to see the Kanye effect and to move back to later announcements?

    • 2 really good albums IMO. Fun, really good musicians, energetic, can dance to it.    I'd take that over the couple of dozen twee ernest singer songwriter 2 chord dross acts on the bill most years.
    • They will have strictly 14 days to comply, at the end of which they will strictly have another 14 days to comply.
    • Bonobo has a new album out in September.  Touring the US the end of this year, so hopefully UK dates and festivals in 2027.  Would make a superb Park headliner.
    • I was following up to pink_triangle's post about what Reform are saying they will do to find money for defence spending.   But with Labour, they may well water down or delay some of the net zero commitments, they may find ways to cut welfare spending with Pat McFadden's welfare review thing, but I don't think it's going to be near enough. They really tied themselves down with the tax commitments in their manifesto, just reversing Hunt's NI cuts would have gone a long way. Under Burnham I think they may try and reform some of the tax system, land taxes and levies etc. Certainly needs reforming. But that might all be after a general election if Labour were to win.  I reckon they will try and do something with fiscal rules to borrow more, and try and persuade markets to go along with them.  (and he's already rowed back on that waspi thing...I think his team and others in Labour had a word).
