I'm pretty sure the guy only claimed that he'd found out that Rudimental were headlining Friday night. Anything else is separate.

Not that I'm giving any thought to Florence playing the Other Stage.

Yup he did, but there's a lot to suggest the other two are the chemical brothers. I believe Neil has said that he firmly believes the chemical brothers will be there.

Both chems and Alt j can only do sat and sun anyway. And if saturday chems is a shoe in, then it's either Alt-J or someone else for the sunday.

So I guess the only one that's really in doubt is Alt-J

Feels very deja vu to last year this.

Metallica on the other stage, big headliner falls through, band bumped to pyramid headliner.

Neil you have said/heard that Prince was never actually booked or in talks last year. What do you think/know happened with the Metallica bump up last year? Was it just them not sure if they could get around Soni's contract?

If it's someone they've been chasing a while it ain't gonna be macca is it.

And it won't be bowie Unles he fancies dicing with death

Outside p***** who is there? (On the assumption what Neil's heard is true)

C'mon people, it's obviously Tom Waits.

Joiners tweeted they've got a Glasto warm up announcement tomorrow. Unless it's Lionel, Foos or Kanye surely we'd have to have the announcement?

Hmm maybe, would Joiners really be privy to that though? Cos I would doubt the act would know of an announcement either...

alt-j could do Pyramid. I believe he also reckons Chems are doing Other on Sunday so alt-j probably will be on Pyramid (Gazza, no) so leaves a mystery Saturday headliner and there's nothing really concrete in there. No TBC's as we had last year for two of them so it's a bit of a leap to say we know them already.

If Metallica were being looked at to headline the Other it doesn't seem hugely far fetched that Florence could too. I'm not a fan of either which might be why Florence doesn't 'feel' like a Pyramid headliner to me and I don't know that her general appeal in the UK is much different from a Jake Bugg.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to perfect my Jedi mind tricks on Mr Bowie

metallica were always going to headline as the original plan, so I heard - tho the possibility of them playing Other was due to both the availability of other acts and their Soni contract as far as i can work out.

Really?! Wow. Last year was early, but that would surprise me if true. What's the point, so early?

Let me just check the 'live' BBC cams.

Nope, definitely not the case ;)

That webcam is broken more often than it's working. Hard to see as I'm on my phone but the sate looks like 2015-01-03?

Absolutely nobody left who could be speculated upon with any real likelihood. It's going to be Roger Nelson or somones getting bumped.

nah .... it's a venue for about 300 people, and they could have any random small act playing there as a glasto warm up

just seems odd they would self confirm someone for the festival UNLESS that act had the go ahead to be announced, maybe i'm clutching at straws tho

    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
    • Sounds good tbh.
    • Bristol was the only city in 2012 that voted for a mayor. We had a local independent who was popular, then Marvin Rees won and was so corrupt that Bristol voted to get rid of the position - having just had the WECA mayor position put in place as well.
    • They built a watering system and have been watering the island for the past few weeks to reduce dust, but given the current drought, there will still be dust. They will cover twice as much ground around the main stage with those plastic panels as they did before. They couldn't book Gogol Bordello because the singer was afraid the government would allow Russian security services to capture him if he entered the country. They didn't have much room to be selective about artists. They booked whoever they could get. This year's Sziget will be only about 50% of his original vision. He wanted a dedicated rock stage. They are preparing for a loss of 1.5 billion HUF this year. For some reason, student tickets are not selling in the numbers they had expected. He said that when he talks about the lineup being less important, he doesn't mean Sziget should have a weaker lineup than Primavera. Rather, it should have a similarly strong lineup combined with much more non-musical programming, so people from abroad come here to see the same artists but have a completely different overall experience. He didn't miss Sziget and originally wanted to spend no more than two days a week dealing with it, but now he's working on it full-time and has handed over control of the rest of his businesses.
    • Well the point seems to be 22.7% turn out doesn't suggest the majority are rushing out to support the mayoral system.
