Paid up my ticket on wednesday, still at most half-bothered about the line up announcement.

The later it comes the more complete it will be so I don't really feel it like this thread shows many do! Is a spectacular effort - I look forwards to this year's weather thread

Isn't Michael quite religious (I may be making this up)?

I can't see him releasing anything on Sunday or Monday. I believe they're considered rather important days.

Seems to be Emily at the forefront this year doesn't it?

The twitter announcements, guardian interview, her eFests interview. It reads as is she is booking the headliners and pyramid.

Was out at the pub last night for my mates birthday - quite glad I missed all of last night's shenanigans, would have spent the whole evening on here, getting all excited... then nothing. Clearly shows I should get back to my life and just await a Twitter message from glasto official. Bet I won't tho!

Why monday? Its today and sunday isn't it?

I'm not religious, but thought it was last night (the last supper), today (crucifiction) and Sunday (ressurection) which are religious days.

Monday isn't religious.... I think. Pretty sure Easter monday just classes as your work day off for the sunday. If Christmas day is a sunday, we get monday as a bank holiday.

I going by it being known as Easter Monday and us getting a day off :) but you could be right.

If he is religious it definitely wont be today. Today is the solumn day of Easter. I know that. Sunday is the celebration.

To be honest to respect artists who are, I wouldn't be announcing today

I'm going to get a notification on my phone if they post anything on facebook or twitter, but I'm still checking the website at least every 15 minutes.

I think I might have a problem.

I have a feeling that we won't get an announcement until after the ticket balance window closes. Payback for the Kanye petition. I paid on the 1st April asthe festival is more than just the headliners.

So it's all Neil Lonsdale's fault?

Today is Good Friday, very religious. Monday is just an extra bank holiday.

Courts are shut on religious days. On Saturdays and normal days magistrates courts have stand-by courts but not on religious days so not on Sunday, Christmas day or Good Friday

It's a bit Orwellian, but just imagine GFL had some way of keeping track of how soon you paid off your ticket balance in April by linking it to your ticket number.

And then, on the next ticket day in October, they then used that information to control how quickly you got into the ticket booking site.

Wouldn't that be exactly what GFL wants? The punters who paid off their ticket first, long before the line-up was released -- the kind of punters who buy tickets simply because it's Glastonbury, irrespective of the line-up -- would be given priority booking for the next festival.

A bit unfair to newbies, maybe, but it would favour the diehards and weed out the flakes and the 'bucket list' buyers.

Glastonbury have said many times that they want their festival open to everyone with everyone having an equal chance of attending

    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
