I've resigned myself into thinking late April/early May for any announcement now. Sigh.

Ah well, whilst I agree with you it'll be worth it!

Don't think anything will come over the next week unless balance payments are incredibly low

I'm thinking that Glastonbury will be very chuffed if a similar number to normal pay up the balance without them announcing another act, and that perhaps they'll extend that announcement silence beyond the resale too - so they can clearly show that all the anti-Kanye noise was just meaningless bullshit.

I've no idea if that's what they want or plan to do, but if I was them that's what I'd be looking to do if I felt it was possible. As they probably get daily updates of people paying the balance and have data from other years, then they should be in a good position to know exactly what's going on and the best way to go with whatevr's happening.

Only fair that if we don't get a line up, the resale people don't either

what im slightly puzzled by is surely they WANT to have the balances paid asap, and they leave line up till after easter then they arent they less likely to get balances paid earlier?

if, using data from other years, this year's pay-ups is around the same, would making an announcement increase the pay-ups? Not necessarily.

Ultimately, all they really care about is that it's sold out in enoigh time before the gates open for them not to have financial worries. Everything else is supplementary to that.

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
