I am conveniently choosing to ignore this 'fact', until such time that the Icelandic Pixie is formally not announced for GF2015. Until then, she's nailed on.

Not sure why those guys think that the exclusive live debut of her new album would stop her playing a festival set at Glasters - I don't think it does

I think it's often underestimated on here how big of a booking Foos are as well. With them and Kanye there's no need whatsoever for the Sunday headliner to be particularly huge.

There is though, as that's the headliner for Sunday local day tickets. If it's someone who's a bit niche currently, I think there'd be proper ructions (even though they'd be my band of the festival). They're good enough with enough material to headline, but it'd be as a friday headliner. This next album is make or break, or at least, wait until the next make or break for them.

I think the statistic of hits by Taylor Swift vs hits by Kasabian pretty much speaks for itself.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, I know you're a TS fan, so i assume you're saying she's had more hits than Kasabian. Not in the UK she hasn't and not for your average festival goer. Not by a long chalk. Kasabian was a safer bet than Taylor.

Given the Kanye reaction, if GF announce TS, they must know they'll need to brace themselves for a veritable onslaught of outrage, although most people like Swifty or are at worst indifferent, so it won't be so bad. But there'd be cries of despair from some quarters (who should be ignored). I'm hoping it's her. I want to see her more than Stone Roses, personally.

45 pages to go, didn't we manage to get 30 pages out of the Stone Roses hullabaloo last week? We can do this!

we just need one more knobhead to come on with some outlandish claim and we're there! come on guys - where are all the Bowie rumours or claims that Prince reopened his twitter account, tweeted 'Glasto4ever' before deleting it all again five minutes later!?

I wasn't particularly referring to the Stone Roses with my comment, but even so, don't see why it'd be any different than booking The Verve to headline the Sunday in 2008.

The Verve had only just reformed, and had a new single out and a new album soon after. the Roses reformed three and a half years ago, and have done every other festival since. i think they'd need something new - even just a new single and promise of new album - for it to not seem like a weak booking imo. all this may come soon for all we know. will just have to wait and see

*edit: this is just how i see it - i'm sure a lot of people couldn't give a toss about new material and would be happy to just see em play the first album + a load of b-sides and singles all over again

Was Superscally referring to the Roses? I thought it was Flo. I don't think the Stone Roses could be described as 'niche' nor their album 'make or break'.

Well I didn't want to say anything... But I've heard that Bowie and Jagger have agreed to perform "Dancing in the Street" together for two hours while Prince plays the banjo.

She's not playing at Glastonbury. Friend of mine works on something to do with her and told me that the Manchester show is the first show of the new album cycle proper. No more festivals to be added, by all accounts

One thing's for sure twitter/social media will go mental if The Stone Roses headline......in a good way!

Pulp are doing it :)

Will it? Twitter didn't exactly crash when the Foos were announced and they're a lot more popular amongst the typical Twitter demographics.

think it'd be more to do with the Roses coming back after two years of inactivity (amongst rumours they'd packed it in again) to finally do Glastonbury. would be pretty huge i feel

I just figured since that's what all the talk's been about, but you're right, maybe not. For what it's worth I don't see any problem in terms of suitability for either the Stone Roses or Flo for the Sunday, though. I was basing what I said on the Roses having new material like The Verve did, I don't think they'd be booked otherwise.
