It's annoying that the Legends Slot has become a 'thing' that they feel the need to fill every year. It works best when they can get a true legend who naturally fits the Sunday afternoon slot rather than trawling up any old 80's act to fill it.

80's??? Showing a level of ignorance about Lionel Richie's back catalogue there!

I disagree with a lot of what people are saying about him. I was brought up in a house filled with northern soul and Motown and have got a lot of good memories about the Commodores and Richie. Maybe that's swayed me but at worst he will create a good singalong (which apparently is good enough to carry the stone roses through a whole revival) and he's got great stage presence. I'll be there belting out Easy like a true Faith No More fan

My friends brother does guitar tuning shit or whatever for the roses and has told me they are sunday night headliners as he has been hired again.

He told me about the warrington gig and got me on the guest list before it was announced so i have no reason not to believe him again

Most people seem to have ignored this. This is kinda believable by the fact it's not a new poster.

I've been on and off so my knowledge is patchy, but Roses4Baggie claimed it would be the Stone Roses, has since been proven to be a loathsome shit stain.

Big Vern is also claiming it's the Roses, and as much as I've had disagreements with him before, he's never struck me as a bullshitter.

      Ah, that is interesting and ruins my theory a bit!!   I think my point just about holds though, and coming full circle on this discussion, being a sizable band such as Muse and not being able to sell out two O2 dates very quickly or at all doesn’t fill me with confidence that they be able to do a decent job selling a stadium tour…although maybe if Muse do something about their pricing, maybe they can!

      I’ve said it elsewhere too but Emily Eavis said a 2028 headliner was booked, to me that’s only going to be someone the size of Oasis or Taylor Swift

      It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
