Im suprised they are still doing as much as they do really. Intial album was fun, but its been a downward slide since then. Without the TV work boost they'd surely be doing small local events with The Fratellis and The Hoosiers?

they played third down at Reading even at their lowest point commercially..

They'd more or less gone the way of The Pigeon Detectives before Ricky Wilson got that BBC gig.

I think they will always have that ability to be slightly higher on a bill than their recent stuff should allow due to the sheer weight of that first album plus a couple of other songs. Ruby was one of the biggest selling songs of the decade wasn't it?

Came back on here after a couple hours of half arsed work, to see someone, if serious or not, suggesting Kaiser Chiefs, as a headliner for Glastonbury, I wasn't annoyed, or angry, or even laughing

Just upsetting that this is what its came to

Why DID Ricky Wilson get that BBC gig (apart from the obvious barrel scraping)?

It's not like he was even known for his great singing

Plus he's pretty charismatic (I think anyway) :girlinlove:

I think Adele would be a good headline act for Sunday night chill everyone out ready for the long journey home next day.

Ruled out already for this year. But likely headliner next few years, both Emily and Michael have said they want her to headline.

Has the bbc gig actually helped them that much? Their sales haven't improved. It strikes me thar Ricky Wilson has profited but kaiser chiefs haven't.

You know, I think that the people at The Voice actually thought that he might have some sort of 'rock star' credibility that would win over an audience who wouldn't usually watch it. Which would show how utterly delusional they are.

They're back to playing arenas now, whilst on their tour before they were playing academies. So yes it has helped them.

He's ten million times better than Danny Whatshisname though

I saw on Twitter that Employment was ten years old last weekend. While I've no desire to listen again, I'll admit to enjoying it at the time. The Modern Way and Oh My God in particular were belting singles.

Subsequent releases show they utterly fluked that.

Hasn't Ed been ruled out? Also no Royal Blood (not that I think this is a definitive list, just ruling out people I know definitely won't be there).

If it's One Direction I don't know what I'll do.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
