He's been banned. Racist slurs are not acceptable here.

Thanks for the update Neil. I knew he was living on borrowed time. I will not miss him. I read your really rather grand forums alot, especially this one, the Glastonbury headliners page. I post occasionally but mostly I just like to see what's going on here and enjoy the banter. Good to see his 'banter' has gone. p.s keep up the good work russycarps :)

I can't believe he lasted as long as he did!

I agree I think Russycarps posts are great. Plus he likes Nick Cave, so must be a good guy really

Do we think there is anything in the "Getting Fleetwood Mac is great, but you can never one-up Glastonbury." comment from Giddings? Could just be a general comment bigging up the festival?

It was headliner specific you'd be hard pressed to find a headliner that would apply to. P*****, Kate Bush or Bowie are the only acts that spring to mind (I'm basing that on acts who are or have been in some way active recently).

It could mean anything, really - including that he thinks he's managing to out-do them this year.

He's still got a headliner to announce, and I reckon only then will those words be seen in their proper light.

Why the late announcement this year for that 3rd headliner? Maybe it's Prince, and he's got the bands Glasto would like.

Just pictured Nick Cave subbing Taylor Swift. The looks on her fans' faces would be even better than the Mumfarts fans'.

I can't speak for all of Swift fandom here, but the look on my face would be one of elation.

I have a theory that the Eavii put Nick there in 2013 as a form of musical education, my friend went along to get a good spot for Mumfords, came out of it a saved soul, she absolutely loves Push The Sky Away now.

Also look out for Robbie Williams on the bill somewhere.

Mate, The Bill has been off the air for years now.

Foo Fighters subbed by Florence

Elton John subbed by Bruno Mars

Kanye West (plus Rihanna/McCartney) subbed by Taylor Swift

Also look out for Robbie Williams on the bill somewhere.

Am I being stupid in thinking that this isn't totally out of line..? They've been spending a fair amount of time together recently and he is a bigger act than her...

PS: just joining up some dots in my head, and letting you peeps in on it....

Someone has contacted me with some info which he claims to be from an excellent source. They've been in touch in the past, and that previous info stood up.

While I won't say here what they've told me they did get in touch at one point, specifically to tell me it wasn't Coldplay after I'd said it was. I foolishly dismissed that at the time, because of my (misplaced) confidence in my Coldplay sources. Within what they've told me is that Fleetwood Mac are not playing.

Along with all the other "it's not Fleetwood Mac" stuff from Emily, Mick Fleetwood, etc, it's going to take a very well placed source to convince me that it is them.

Give us a clue!

Have they been mentioned a bit on here or does it fall under the 'not rumoured' bracket?

And Kanye's wife's arse is a bigger act than him, so maybe she's headlining...? :P

Hahahah good point well made. What I really meant was that if she's going to accept subbing to anyone, I reckon he'd be on that list (whereas someone Florence-esque I just can't see happening).

Unrelated, but I feel like I just spoke to a celebrity. Hi Neil!!

This just reminded me that when I saw the title of Mumfords new album the other day, I read it as 'Mild Wind' rather than 'Wild Mind'...

I'm having very real concerns that the actual headliners are going to be a huge let down and all these other festivals with their exclusives and big-money bookings are going to leave Glastonbury in the dust..

MUST KEEP BELIEVING :girlcray:

    • Christ didn't even see that!
    • It does feel very bland. It would certainly spell another year (my third, I think) away from Pyramid headliners for me. That doesn't mean they aren't worthy, though. I don't follow what any of them are up to, as it isn't my thing. Good luck to them.   You would think coming off a fallow year, they would want one big hitter. 'Big hitter' is obviously open to debate, but that was/is Madonna. Let's have it right. The eggs have gone in that basket, and it seems (as far the rumours go) that it's blown up. So now you're left with another plan B/replacement headliner.   I'm still of the opinion that Oasis will do it, before the Oasis thing is all said and done. Probably 2028, if they can come to an agreement. It may transpire that 2027 is bland (or at least to some of us), and 2028 is a bit... wild.   Again, though, none of us categorically know ANY of the headliners, as it stands.
