Yes, I see nothing wrong in it really. He was foolish to name James Blunt, But Blunt has way over reacted and has missed the point. It is a shame that Blunt does not have the sense of humour that Ed Sheeran seems to possess. Ed has been ridiculed form all quarters this year and has come out of it with his dignity and enhanced his reputation with a few funny one liners. James Blunt seems quite a quick minded individual, he should have come up with a witty riposte. Not lose him temper like that and totally miss the point.

You should read the guys twitter replies, they are golden, his musics shite but to say the guy doesn't have a sense of humour is way off the mark, there's a best of James blunt on twitter 2014 on the internet, it's brilliant

I can see no reason whatsoever why Taylor Swift is more of a step towards the 1D apocalypse than Beyonce. And anyway, if booking 1D was what it took to keep the rest of the festival going I'd be all for it. I wouldn't be there, I imagine hardly anyone else from these boards would either, but what difference does it make? I don't think the tickets would suddenly start going to under-14s only...

They were a boy band. You don't want them re-wanted. They didn't do anything of note, but some of their singles were quite catchy, leading to a surprisingly very good T set in 2012. They split not long after that. Haven't reunited yet but was one of the only things I could think of.

Regardless of how commercially successful an act is (which I assume is what people mean when they talk about size), if their fanbase isn't the demographic that regularly attends Glasto then surely it makes no sense to have them headline?

If the bookers hadn't realised this before last year, then the size of the crowd during Metallica must have shown them this!!

The Taylor Swift demo does regularly attend Glasto, though. See also: Ed Sheeran's crowd in 2014.

I don't think you should draw comparisons with Metallica because one of the best things about Taylor's music is that it's very accessible so you can just go along and enjoy her show without knowing much of her stuff beforehand. Not something the vast majority found possible at Metallica (albeit there were some exceptions).

The point i was making wasn't that it would be 1D eventually but that sort of pop act. I realise Glasto has had pop acts as headliner before but it could become more frequent. I'm also not saying it's a bad thing.

I don't know much about Taylor Swift other than she's very pretty, is part of that country pop genre that is huge in America and she is rumoured to play Glasto.

my friend interviewed him, said he is a lovely guy.

Olly Murs is a terrific entertainer live, has some fairly brilliant songs and is a generally nice bloke. He drew a terrific crowd at T in 2012 on a day when people were drawing shite because of the weather. So he can do decent business at a festival.

Incidentally, I wasn't sure on him before that day. But I said to my mate "okay, I'll give him a shot". Seen him on each tour in Glasgow since.
