blow up mattress for me. just always have to make sure that i blow it all the way up the moment i get there (well, after the tent's been set up of course) otherwise i end up getting too pissed and never get round to actually blowing it up. always found them comfortable - well, more comfortable than a roll matt / nothing

Normally it was just sleeping bag on a floor of my tent (only the last three years, before that it was a camper van bed), last year though I used a single camp bed, roll mat on the camp bed and then my sleeping bag and a proper pillow. I love partying into the night but try to get a decent few hours sleep each day.

When I camped it was always a decent blow up double airbed, with a double sleeping bag with an inner liner and a couple of good pillows. Even though I was sleeping solo I never liked being contained in a single sleeping bag. And the pillows made such a difference rather than rolling up a bundle of clothes.

ive got a self inflating mattress, lasted me 5 glastonburys but think I may need a new one, its started going down during the nights now, last year I took a proper pillow for the first time, made a massive difference! will never do a festival without a proper pillow again

I personally believe that there is little point in a matt/airbed unless you desperately need the comfort. If you're worried about the cold ground then you need to invest in a better sleeping bag. I find a good enough sleeping bag sorts out the comfort and warmth aspects just fine :)
