I'm just cleaning up my very old laptop in the hope that it will bring me luck. I'll plug that straight into the modem and have the iPad on wifi and phone on 3G. I can't do anymore than that really. We only neec one ticket. Its a shame that a bus ticket won't be suitable.

Quoted for Yoghurt (from earlier in the thread). Sounds techie but quite well explained for us simpletons. I think I'm going to do this on one browser and auto-refresh the others.

Ok, I was in two minds whether to do this as the more people that do this method the less effective it becomes by an order of magnitude.... but this may be my last Glasto and I have tickets already.... this of course can't guarantee tickets (there are more people than tickets) - but I know this industry and I cannot think of or find a better way of significantly improving your chances of getting a ticket.

it starts to works once you are on the holding page so you have to press F5 to get there (this is the page which is green and says something like 'refresh in 20 seconds on it). if you do it before this point it will never work.

dont worry about your internet connection speed if its broadband you are ok - if you can tether your PC or laptop to a 3g or 4g device this will probably help, make sure you download chrome and have reg and bank details saved in a notepad doc for copy and pasting,

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download Chrome Auto Refresh Plus plugin

It appears in the right next to your address bar as blue button with an arrow in it

Select it and go to the settings button at the bottom (cog)

In settings do the following:

· Check refresh predefined URL and set it to http://glastonbury.seetickets.com

· Check page monitor enable this feature

· Make sure page monitor - Popup Notification once FIND the target is checked

· I would also check the play sound candiate for six seconds

· Click save and then OK

Click back on the auto refresh button again:

Predefined URL should be the Glastonbury one

In the Popup Notification once FIND the target put the word postcode (not case sensitive)

Click on the refresh interval at the top (12 seconds?)

It will now refresh until it finds a page with postcode in it and which point it will make a noise and stop refreshing turn your sound up

You can do this for multiple tabs try and have half a dozen going slightly out of kilter

Thursday coach tickets were certainly kicking around for a while. They're like the lowest rung of Glasto tickets, thursday coaches.

It basically goes:

Residents weekend (free)

Full weekend + car

Wednesday coach

Residents Sunday-only (free)

Thursday coach

question: if we have one card with all of the dollar on, can someone else in the group just use those card details? Does it need to be card of the person buying the tickets? In the past I've used family members' cards on account of being skint but I couldn't see anything about this on the FAQs page.

Saves having to shift money from account to account which is where my group had issues in the October sale.

Unfortunately or fortunately all Glasto sales are different. Some years we smash a record (like this year), other years they're on sale for months. There's really no way of knowing though it's hopeful that a lot of deposits haven't been settled.

Assume nothing.

Note that when people say they sold out in X minutes, X is when the last Thursday coach ticket for the least popular departure location sold... they sell more slowly than general sale tickets, but that's because if one location sells out, people start looking at nearby ones, then unclaimed tickets from other locations go back in the pot and it's a bit of random back and forth. They're not really much less popular than general sale tickets, just a slightly more convoluted purchasing system.
