considering Pixies were seemingly supposed to be subbing Metallica on Other could they not be third behind Metallica and Jack White on Pyramid? can't see them going ahead of Jack White myself, but who knows

still reckon they'll be headlining Other though. it's just unfortunate circumstances that have led to it happening (Metallica getting boosted to Pyramid, leaving a spot open on Other)

I know there are other stages but it seems odd to me that they would split the "rock" crowd on the Saturday night. I don't see Metallica getting a massive crowd anyway, to lose a large number to The Pixies (which they would) doesn't make sense

Firstly, would Metallica lose a lot of audience to the Pixies? I loved the Pixies for 24 years and I wouldn't go near machismo, twiddling guitar solo nonsense like Metallica for love nor money. And I've never seen anyone doing that silly horn thing with their hands or cheering in a pretend gruff voice at a Pixies gig.

But if (heaven forbid) there is a crossover between their audiences then surely that is why Glasto would book them at the same time. Split the crowd, with crowd density in mind.

Paper Planes is one of the best singles of the last decade, but my history of MIA gig-going is a series of cancellations, late arrivals and premature climaxes.

I think it's total bollocks that Metallica were originally booked to headline Other, but have been moved to Pyramid because Prince wasn't available. How fucking big is their headliner budget supposed to be that they could get Metallica *and* Prince?

(By the way, hoils, I like both Pixies and Metallica.)

    • When it comes to legacy alternative acts I hope they bring the Afghan Whigs. Those newly released songs are incredible and classic Whigs sound
    • We’ve a friend  who has hens and sells eggs for two quid for six. So much tastier than supermarket ones. She has an honesty box outside her house and has now expanded into selling them to hotels and the local butchers shop. Quite a decent wee business
    • Curiously a rumour has turned up that Barcelona are now interested in Rodri. So could make Real Madrid and Man City are suddenly both in need of a central midfielder.    ... Assuming this move to Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes ends up being processed before those two may need to enter the conversation.
    • I think Thunderbolts probably had one of the more interesting villains for an MCU movie. I was actually a bit creeped out by Void. I'm a massive horror movie fan, and I can't think of another time in the last couple of years where a character legit scared me like he did.    Brand New Day was a good time. A great villain choice as it played into Parker's insecurities. Castle was a strange inclusion but the dynamic between him and Parker was great. Castle must have been delighted to have someone who never seen themselves as superior to him like Murdoch pretty much always did.
    • Certainly the fact Bruce had disasters at West Brom and Blackpool has hurt his chances. Maybe he'll go mentor his son now he's a manager at Rotherham.    Maybe the passive aggressive comment about Howe being "that fella who got Bournemouth relegated" also counts as it's own comment that aged very poorly.
