Metallica 2014

I've been listening to Binge & Pruge. Granted it's from 1993 but I'd be thrilled if they just played most of that. Perhaps throw in a couple of cover versions (they already do/have done Stone Cold Crazy) and tone down the sweary a bit. It's quite a long album, too long I think for he headline slot on the Pyramid so paring it down a bit would, I think, give enough hits to get you through.

I've never seen Metallica live, but the impression I get from listening to that one live album is that it's a loud energetic engaging show - I really hope they play.

Hmmm ... one step forwards, two steps back .... I'm no closer to finding out whether this is actually happening or not.

I'm just about certain that attempts have been made to make it happen, just not what the result of those attempts are.

Dear god. Bedlam in 3,2,1... :P

In what regard? As Pyramid headliners? Or playing at all?

Am I the only one who doesn't think Metallica are *that* heavy? I mean, it's not as if we're talking about shouty/grunty metal bands like Slayer, Sepultura, Rammstein or Pantera. A lot of Metallica's stuff is pretty melodic, especially the stuff on the Black album (which they'll undoubtedly play a lot of), and Hetfield's voice has more of a Southern rock tinge to it these days. If Queens of the Stone Age can play (and headline the Other Stage), Smashing Pumpkins can play, Eagles of Death Metal can play, Slash can play and shit shouty bands like Enter Shikari can play, I don't see why Metallica shouldn't. They're big enough and good enough.

Of course you aren't the only one, that fact that they're MOR metal was discussed quite a while ago.

Good, i guess that's hidden in amongst the other 65 pages.

The National aren';t going to headline any stage they're on, i'd put good money on it. Other sub seems the most likely

Ahh right, thought I read something about them being rumoured for The Park on Saturday.

I think if Metallica do headline the pyramid I'll be there over anywhere else, wouldn't miss the opportunity to hear everyone chanting "Die!" along to "Creeping Death"

This is providing the resale is kind to me!

A couple of people have suggested them headlining The Park but there's not an actual rumour about it. Personally I think they're too big for The Park now and that either subbing or headlining the Other Stage is more likely.

yeah they're far too big for the Park. subbing Other seems the most realistic placing - although some of the diehard fans on here insist they could headline it (they couldn't)

If it is indeed Arcade Fire / Metallica / Kasbian I think the resale will be kind to you.

I know a fair few gangs of girls who got tickets last year and returned them as there was no Beyonce etc as the year before. I can see it being the same as this year if they are the three headliners.

Idiots, absolute idiots but I do think line ups count to a fair few people. None of this forum though, obviously.

Yeh I reckon they'll sub massive attack, would work out well for me considering that horrible Sunday shaping up on the pyramid
