have heard back ... someone has claimed 'done deal', but they admit it's not a concrete claim. So the situation is .... nobody knows.

My take on things is that nothing is agreed yet.

Unfortunately, I have good reason to think it will both be agreed and also won't be agreed, depending which set of info I choose to put my belief in.

The most logical would be to think that it will be agreed, but there's plenty of reasons to make me doubtful of that all the same.

Thanks for the update - even though it tells us nothing lol

still seems pretty likely then. i'd be surprised if it wasn't them now (although two weeks back i was saying that about Fleetwood Mac, and two weeks before that Prince, so what do i know?)

I still have a feeling that it will be someone else - not Prince, Not Fm and not Metallica. I have had that feeling for a long time and it really itches!

it's all well and good saying that, but who!? it'd be shocking stuff if they've booked a headliner that none of us have mentioned or sussed out

If you have a look on Youtube there's a making of S&M video on there somewhere. The amount of work that went into it would suggest that it's never going to happen for a one off show just because it's "more suited".

I understand that and I think I have watched that video a couple of years ago, it was incredible. But is headlining Glastonbury really just a "one off show"?

for a lot of acts, yes. i know Metallica have shown a lot of interest in playing the festival, but enough to practice with a full orchestra which they haven't done in like fifteen+ years and then bring said orchestra to the UK with them for one show? i don't think so. they don't need it

they haven't.

Right now, the headliner they have booked or have pencilled in is Metallica.

The unanswered question is whether Metallica are really up for doing it. Everything I've accessed says that they're not.

However, that might just be how they're playing it, to keep it under wraps. There's also stuff I've accessed which strongly suggests that this could well be how it is.
