Chance The Rapper just released his album (for free on iTunes apparently), and is playing London on Monday 29th. Would love to see him again. He played to a near-empty JP tent last year, but was great!

Outside in the sun would nice...

I'd love to see him on West Holts this year. I believe he's at Wireless one of the days but surely he'll be at Glastonbury also.

Was a shame the tent wasn't too full last year but he was up against the likes of James Blake & Black Keys if I recall correctly which was a shame as I was hoping he'd do Life Round Here with Blake.

Are you going to change your username to reflect the changes?

he he. Half heartedly tried and failed in the forlorn hope that people would wish me a happy birthday, but couldn't be arsed so left it. I'm no longer a virgin now but was afraid that I would be admonished for changing my username and my fragile confidence would be hit hard

Fairly it has to be said, I think the only reason we questioned it was people were dead set on them headlining. Like them or not, it is a cracking booking to have as a sub and I can only think it's their choice to only do Glasto partly too. Bestival is out most likely due to the arena tour and given it's in September, that's what most likely is ruling out R&L. I reckon didn't try to accommodate sub for this year as they'll need them next year lol.

30 seconds to Mars have an announcement tomorrow morning, saying can you guess where?

The Cribs say on twitter they have big tour news tomorrow, looks like they are in

Fair to say there anyway. This adds to why I think the morning as you don't often get to the afternoon without bands info coming out.

Any chance they could do Bestival?

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
