Any Idea what time the williams green secret slots normally are on the Thursday?

No idea but the best way to know is to ask the security.

I can't remember who broke their embargo and posted on here that Alt-J were doing it in 2013, but I can't thank them enough for that was my first real glastonbury moment! Hearing a pretty good band were playing a secret set in a few mins near me. I remember being in that crowd with mates of mine, talking to everyone in the crowd saying "You here for alt-J?" and we were all in a will they won't they. Then they came on stage and did the best performance I think I've ever see them do, it was great!

With them possibly on jp, foos on pyramid and people like Deadmau5 being talked about as other headliner... how many people other people are praying for Caribou on Park, or even better Patti Smith on park/west holts.

I think there has been a 'verbal confirmation' by one of The Rudimentals that they're headlining Friday's Other Stage. deadmau5 was just a prediction really.

There was that tweet a few months ago suggesting Caribou were there so I'd be very confident on him/them headlining Friday night.

I don't know where this Patti Smith for West Holts thing comes from to be honest. Except it being the go-to 'good music' stage for people I'm not convinced her music fits.

It's always friday which is the most clasheavy day.

Remember how divided this forum was when it was (in 2013)

Arctic Monkeys - pyr

Portishead - other

Crystal Castles - JP

Chic ft Nile Rogers - WH

The Horrors - Park

That was a divide.

I didn't see any of them.

Member of the Glasto Chat page said Catfish self confirmed as JP headliners for the friday at one of their gigs?

Can anyone validate this or is it bullshit?

I've been thinking about them maybe being JP headliners recently, they're probably big enough.

I agree about them maybe doing Williams Green as well, they're the right size for that kind of thing.

I'd treat that verbal agreement very loosely mate, sub is way more likely.

Think if she was playing she'd headline park or maybe West Holts, which seems to have quite a diverse line-up, but maybe she'd be more likely for park. Either way it'd be amazing if she was there, would be a must see for me and could happen given she's a rumour on the line-up page.

Think i'll probs be missing the Rudimentals other stage slot so again still holding out for caribou.

Ideal three (realistic) headliners for me:

Caribou (Park)

Kanye West

Belle and Sebastian (Park) followed by Patti on WH.

Although clearly Patti on WH is perhaps less likely, maybe the three park headliners are B and S, Patti and Caribou, which would kinda be gutting for me as hoping for a reasonably clash free saturday and all those and kanye are must-sees for me.

Tbh I've never been a massive fan of Catfish and their bottlemen, but they were very good live last year and the second half of their album is very good so a Thursday Williams Green slot would be brilliant for me, I think they're a band that have just come at the right time and will most likely die out after the second album

Saw Catfish last night, fantastic live. Their set is about an hour, so unless they play new material I can't see them headlining JP.

Williams Green and midday slot on JP or other stage I think/hope. Would hate them clashing with foo fighters but they deserve a big slot after years of grafting their way to where they are now.

The JP headline set is an hour but I still don't see higher than subbing.

They are far too big for a midday slot on JP, I'd say they will either headline or sub JP or play on the other during the day.

Kate tempest (listed as TBC on the rumours page) tweeted y'day about her tour dates, when I replied that there was a glasto shaped hole in her schedule (she's got a gig on the Friday in Switzerland then nothing till the following Wednesday), someone who's on tour with her tweeted me back saying to "stay tuned ....."

Thats as good as a self confirmation right?

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
