Portishead goddammit.

Anyway it doesn't matter if a band has a woman in or not. Its not about WHO is making the music really, is it? I hate when people make a point of a band being 'all female' or 'female fronted' or whatever as if girls making rock music is weird or something.

It does suck they don't get the same support from fests and more shots at top positions as their male counterparts, though.

Oh I'll give you that one.

And yes it was Rex!

I really do not see the hype

Oh I forgot St, Vincent

As well as Adele, Grace Jones, Sia, Anna Calvi and Mary J Blige. Oh and if you're including Ellie Goulding you should probably include Gaga, Beyonce, Madonna, La Roux, Dolly Parton and Charlie XCX too. Then as you're including bands that are partly female but not totally, you could add London Grammar and Goldfrapp amongst others. The list is frankly endless and the line 'but there aren't many female acts to book' doesn't cut it.

Have avoided this forum all day so missed the afternoon / announcement posts, can anyone run down what went down? Can't hack reading through the last 50 pages. What was the general reaction (personally I thought it was great)? Biggest surprise / surprise slot?

Late to the party but thought it was a cracking announcement personally. Enough for me to warrant a weekend ticket wanting to catch Metallica, libs, bmth, Jamie T, the maccabees, the cribs, limp bizkit, ash, slaves, darlia, all time low, panic! At the disco, royal blood.

Unfortunately have my cousins wedding the Saturday, my question I to do just a day or two or full weekend and miss the wedding...
