I stand corrected on the campsite, I'm sure it used to be dry. Apaprently you can take one case of beer in, not sure how strictly they enforce that.

I see Emily has tweeted how good a Nick Cave song is - it's no reason to believe he (either as Grinderman or Bad Sees) will appear - but i hold out hope. It's always glorious to see the gaping jaws of those left from the act playing before him as he starts his set.

Yeah Yeah Yeah's is a great shout. I have no regrets that I missed them in '09 because I wanted to see Madness but would love another chance to see them. Good band.

Its not just the freedom of drinking beer, I agree with you that at times at Coachella it is too hot for a beer. Its the other bits like being told where you have to camp (grid reference).

It is a great weekend, I wouldnt put anyone off going - dont put it down until you've tried it - but it really doesnt compare to the British or European festivals that we know and love.

Yes you will get to see a lot of bands, yes the weather and location is nice, and yes there are lots of beautiful people there - but that is about all you are going to get from it.

I like the Coachella line up. Looking at past line-ups and the it's very similiar. Always the same sort of acts.

For me drinking beer constitutes about a third of the festival experience.

Drinking beer and watching bands, outside.

Roses attracted a fairly decent following but that was towards the end of their tenure.
