It's actually quite hard to make a convincing case for best three opening songs. Many albums manage two, but three on the trot is rare. Even my beloved 'Hunky Dory' is slightly let down by 'Eight Line Poem' which, although I do love it, isn't an ought right banger like the previous two.

One that springs to mind though, Genesis - 'Selling England By The Pound'. Progtastic:

'Dancing with the Moonlit Knight'

'I Know what I Like'

'Firth of Fifth'

I realise my first couple of entries have been metal/indie rock - so here we go with something a bit different

1. Son of Princess, Brother of Rambo

2. Bolt

3. Couch Crofting

Track 9 - Buckstacy deserves a mention as well (as well as the explanation of the track title - i.e. take a bottle of Buckfast - and a bunch of pills......thats Buckstacy)

I'd go

It's no game (part1)

Up the hill backwards

Scary Monsters (and super creeps)

before

5 years

Soul love

Moonage daydream.

but only because I think Soul love is significantly weaker than the other 2.

Yeah I agree soul love spoils it a bit. This is a hard game!

Not sure scary monsters would be preferable to me.

If low was:

Speed of life

Sound and vision

Always crashing

That would win hands down for me.

But it's not

Can you include 15 years, seeing as it wasn't originally on the album, and only added later as it did well as a single? (I think, anyway)

Probably my favourite Roger Taylor track alongside Drowse and I'm in love with my car.

And then the segue into flick of the wrist is great

I'm in love with my car is one of my favourite queen songs full stop!

And spread your wings. John deacons finest hour

Ah you may be right.

Angel Dust is a phenomenal album.

Real Thing though brings back memories of being with my best friends drinking underage in local park and a much simpler time.

so for personal nostalgia I'm sticking with Real Thing.

Mike tripped me up as I was on way to bar on Angel Dust tour.

highlight of my life at that young age.

who am I kidding......it still is!

Exact same memories of The Real Thing. So much love for that album. Do you mean Mike Patton tripped you up?? How did this occur???
