I only started going in 2008 so have only 2010 as the hottest year. It was lovely! You just have to look after yourself properly. I burn in torchlight, but with my trusty factor 50 and by drinking loads of water and wearing loose cotton tops to cover up, I was ok. The only bad point was that it was freezing at night and I wasn't prepared for that!

I did almost burst into flames in the queue on the way in, one of our lot even asked the stewards if we could get fast-tracked in because I'm a ginger and was going to pop! :)

Only went 2010, but it was horrible. My friend got heat stroke and my gf's forehead swelled up from the sun. The five of us altogether spent most of the festival seeking shelter - something there's not much of during the day. Pyramid afternoon slots were practically empty. I remember seein Seasick Steve and I reckon it was about a third full from a normal afternoon slot

2010 was hotter than Barcelona and any other typically hot destination the papers could pull out the hat.

Was a tad unbearable at times but only because i get uncomfortable in direct sunlight, especially when its hitting 30c! Im always the one perched under the parasol with an ice cold beer on holiday rather than laying out in the heat. Plenty of sun cream, have a pint of water after every boozy drink, wear loose clothing and you dont end up anymore uncomfortable than you have to be. It was nice that year once it started to cool down in the late afternoons, it was like a relief washed over the site every evening and it was time to party.

If we can have it sunny with the temperature in the low to mid twenties... Perfect.

You can't beat a hot one for that moment when you sit in the car to go home, catch sight of yourself in the rear view mirror and wonder who the hell that sleep-deprived frazzelled, peeling red-nosed but otherwise ridiculously tanned weirdo sitting in the back is? In no other situation in life do I fail to recognise myself for that first few seconds.

95 and 10 are too close to call I reckon.  I still thank the free Lipton ice tea ladies for those free ice cold cans I could roll over my forehead to help cool down in 95.

I remember people battling for shade in 2010.

Shangri La was the place to be with the old alleyways. I dropped on working behind the scenes at Shangri la that year and had shade most of the day.

Surely 2013 gets an honorable mention. I know it rained on the Thursday? But the weekend was scorchio.

This!! Be prepared!! Have a sun hat or a parasol/brolly too, but obviously only use the brolly if you're sat down so it doesn't obscure peoples view.

I loved the evenings that year, as someone else has said, the dust made the sunsets soooo beautiful!
